It sounds like Aretha Franklin is close to death. That would be a sad loss, although she's been ill for quite some time. But we're talking about someone who absolutely is on the Mt. Rushmore of living singers (for now).

Another one that have been ill for a few years is Sean Connery. Roger Moore was a surprise since we never knew he was ill before he died.

Aretha Franklin, dead at age 76. RIP to one of the best voices ever. I did not know she was born right here in my hometown of Memphis, making her a Memphomaniac.
