This is fair. It's also the point many of us repeatedly made and shocker fans acted like we were haters. They're still a really good team and it is still likely to be a great conference race between them and Cincinnati.

The vast majority of Shocker fans never thought WSU "would dominate the American like they did the Missouri Valley" To take the statements of 2 or 3 posters and decide that is what we expected to happen is just stupid on your parts.

You’re correct. There’s been a bit more piling on this morning which is weird, but I agree, the main culprit being on vacation has made this place sane.

Yeah, there's been a bit more this morning, but I feel it's lighthearted ribbing compared to the overwrought obsessiveness that we saw from one of our UC brethren. Not having him on the thread last night made for such a better exchange.

I do agree with though. This place is a much better place without him here. 95% percent of posters left are solid and stay on topic.

Rhonda B is banned from now on

Rhonda b is a moron. These are the best burgers and onion rings ever. You order at the counter and they bring ur food. It takes a few minutes to cook so.....is that slow service? Nope! This place is great. If you want Mexican food where you have to tackle a waitress to order then go try Rhonda B's place.

Barely a third of the season in and already having issues. Usually conference champs don't lose at home. But keep pretending it's just the same as last year.

None of this is responsive and is frankly poor trolling.

Saturday is an important test for both WSU and UH - obviously, if WSU is to stay in contention for the league title then it something close to a must-win. UH likewise needs a marquee win to offset the damage of last night's debacle in New Orleans.

Point being, we are presently 5-1 in league play. The tone this morning would suggest we are in the midst of a 3 game losing streak or something comparable, which is not the case. I am happy (though it is a weak consolation) that SMU at least has their at-large hopes resuscitated after last night.

Back to regularly scheduled programming.

You all struggle with fact and opinion, everything I posted is factual. The questions I asked were pertinent to the discussion.

This is the easy part of your schedule. A third of the season is gone and you are 1-1 vs the top four, both at home. You have 3 probable losses on the road. SMU, Cincy, Houston. You have 3 more toss ups with at memphis, UCF and cincy. When. Was the last time you were looking at 4 conference losses? You also have a rivalry coming in Tulsa. That's basically half of your remaining games that could be losses or wins. When was the last time that happened.

Fine, let's play and discuss which one of us struggles with facts you silly stickler.

Quote:everything I posted is factual

I am sure you will have no problem admitting your errors and pointing out where I have lied or misstated things ITT to the same degree you willingly did (either through ignorance or intentionally, I will leave it to you which is to blame for your falsehoods).

Quote:You haven't even entered the hard part and just had your first conference loss at home in five years.

Truth-o-meter: INCORRECT. Last home loss in conference play was in 2016.

my understanding was the last home loss for conference was uni in 2012-13. Did I miss one? That would seem correct if you were 65-66 at home and just lost to OU.

Quote:Barely a third of the season in and already having issues

Quote:A third of the season is gone

Truth-o-meter: INCORRECT. More than 50% of the regular season has been played. We can both probably agree that your misstep here is attributable to the fact that you failed to reference conference play in either statement. Poor english skills likely trump willful malfeasance.

Actually since I was referring to conference play the whole time I don't have to say in conference in every sentence. English goes beyond 2nd grade. But we have established reading comprehension is not a strong suit for many wsu posters

Quote:Usually conference champs don't lose at home

Truth-o-meter: INCORRECT. Only once has a conference champ in the AAC not registered a home loss. Was this misstep rooted in stupidity or poor trolling? Hard to say.

Poor English here, but my reference was to conferences in general not the AAC specifically. Although I am surprised that only once in three years has our conference had a champion with no home conference losses. Although if Cincy does that would be 50%

Quote:You have 3 probable losses on the road. SMU, Cincy, Houston

Truth-o-meter: INCORRECT. I thought these were all facts and not just subjective dart throwing? WSU's win likelihood against these opponents per KenPom is 52% (UH), 45% (SMU) and 26% (UC).

This is an opinion and a perfect example of wsu posters not knowing the difference. You are using one metric you like. What was last night's Ken pom prediction? Facts aren't in evidence here. I mean SMU is a better team at home than on the road. They owned wsu on the road, so you think wsu will win on the road? See opinion not fact. Work on that.

Quote:You have 3 more toss ups with at memphis, UCF and cincy.

Truth-o-meter: INCORRECT. Why do these errors in your statements keep happening? It's almost like you don't understand what factual statements are? Toss-up implies even odds or very close to it. Per KenPom, the odds of victory in these games are as follows: 78% (@ Memphis), 65% (@ UCF) and 50% (vs. UC).

Again this is an opinion, see how clear this becomes? Your opinion based on Ken pom is you will win these games. Your opinion before the game against SMU last night and being at home that you would win. Fact is you lost to SMU. My opinion is you took a beating and had a crazy finish to make it a 'close' game.

I dunno, it kinda seems like you were either trolling a bit or are just kinda stupid. Take your pick. Now, please find my errors and let's discuss.

Again opinion. As you can see that is your (and many wsu posters) biggest error the inability to tell the difference between a fact and what you think. Just because people disagree with your opinion doesn't make it trolling, or a lie, or hating. Just because you say it doesn't make it true or a fact. See Fever's quote below for the perfect example of that wsu behavior.

Truth-o-meter: OWNAGE
see opinion, as opposed to fact

I answered in italics. I also begin to wonder how echo chamberish is Wichita? The agree with me or else is disturbing. Perhaps being the only show in town, and formerly the only school in the valley who cared created it? Just no one else around to point out the black and yellow glasses they have on?

TrollU4Ever may have false alliances just like PlayDum. The effort he displays when attacking WSU does not jibe with the simple jealousy of a Tulsa fan. He definitely has an agenda and has been hurting for a long, long time.

Post of the entire thread!

I for one am NOT happy...

I have absolutely no problem getting hammered every other night if this was a 5-bid league. You'll see no superiority out of me then. But as it stands, this conference is really weak and closer to the MVC than the next power conference above it. And that makes CB sad. 01-scout01-france04-bolt

It's something that happens maybe 2 times a year in major conference play. That kind of shooting while partly a function of good offense / bad defense, is a statistical anomaly.

However, that doesn't hide the fact that Wichita State has been really lacking on the defensive side of the ball at times this season. I expected them to be a top 10-15 team in kenpom adjusted defensive efficiency. Right now they sit at 56. This is pretty staggering for a Greg Marshall coach team as they've been in the top 15 each year since 2014 (even finishing first 1 year). I do think they've dealt with some hot shooting at times, but this late in the season that doesn't explain everything. They just haven't been that good a team on the defensive end. They are everything many thought they would be on offense, but to be a true contender type team their defense must improve significantly.

Gregg Marshall has been quoted as saying he hasn't changed a thing about the way he teaches defense since he came to Wichita. He believes certain teams are just playing out of their asses against us and it's a statistical anomaly. Does it appear to you like we are lackadaisical on defense or that teams are merely shooting out of their asses against us?
