Blaze Alldredge, a 6-3, 225 LB from Pierce College in Los Angeles (originally from Kissimmee, FL) just committed to Rice. I think he'll be a sophomore at Rice in the fall with 3 years of eligibility. From the video, I think he has a chance to be an immediate starter at LB for us. I'm impressed how hard our coaching staff continues to recruit, both for the 2018 and 2019 classes (and beyond).

Umm... if he is coming this fall, that would be 33 new comers including walk-ons. Have we ever had a class this size?

Getting Mike on a transfer would be huge.

I want Mike to come to Rice, switch to defense and then line up at WILL to confuse the other team (he's probably a bit too big to be a MIKE).

Riceowls.com football roster has been updated; I say updated but it appears that it is ongoing as some profiles have been fleshed out and others are still lacking information:

1. Devin Staton accepted a PWO position at Oklahoma, so he will not be at Rice this fall.
2. Devin Amodio (6-2/270 PWO?) out of Katy Seven Lakes is a new addition and on the roster.
3. Camden Miller (LB WO) is no longer on the roster.
4. Caleb Hart (6-4/210 TE), Bradley Bass ( 6-1/195 RB), Blaze Alldredge (6-3/225 LB), and Andrew Mike (6-6/302 OL Graduate Transfer) are not on the roster yet.
5. Ari Broussard (6-0/215 LB) and the rest of the 2018 incoming class are on the roster. That includes Shawn Stankavage. Without those players, we are at 101 players, so I presume that they or someone else will be enrolling as we have four spots open.
6. Speaking of Stankavage, it appears that he has one year of eligibility unless the plan is to request a medical redshirt.
7. We now have three fullbacks on the roster: Will Philips, Randall Royall, and incoming freshman Jacob Dodridge
8. Brandt Peterson has been moved back to Offensive line from Tight End. This brings our offensive line totals to 17 (not counting Andrew Mike).

Wow the ucla transfer could be an important addition. Alldredge was someone we talked about and his video was impressive as well. Maybe the four transfers coming in are better than the ones we lost to p5 schools- the graduate transfers at least.
