You've conducted your own experiment with the popular NBA player who returns to his alma mater to coach and came to the same conclusion many others before you have... they just never work out.

Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

Granted, Ollie didn't have a shoe deal and had no experience in hair salons or lawn care but I digress...

What is your response going to be when we end up being great and even shock your shocks? Probably a fake "glad it worked out!" while you shrug behind your laptop huh

03-lmfao your team still sucked this season.

Boeheim is .500 vs Ollie. 03-lmfao

Boeheim is still employed. 03-lmfao

Is Hurley the right guy? Who knows, but he has accomplished some nice things. He will be able to recruit the Northeast really well, which is what UCONN needs. He will have to live up to a lot of expectations. Hopefully, he can bring UCONN back to our former self. March is not the same without the Huskies. Besides, the conference needs UCONN to go deep in March like we have done many many times.

You need to make that your signature and stick around the board for a while. Some need to be shown what true greatness looks like.

I really enjoyed my time in CT and going to a few UCONN games while dating a girl from Manchester years ago. I kind of became a little bit of a fan and miss it up there. Good times.

We need to make a statement hire as well.

Best of luck UCONN.

Dickie V, you are an idiot. That is the worst thing UConn can do for its future.

Some idiots apparently just don't know 5hi+

I would've liked to have Hurley as well, but I'm not totally sold on him. Great gamble, but not a slam dunk by any stretch.

@American_MBB

Quick update: with @dhurley15 in the fold, 6 #AmericanHoops head coaches helped their teams to the Sweet 16 or beyond as players

Meanwhile down in Greenville...

Only been 4 months, hopefully we will be hearing something soon. The way this conference is shaping up should help us find a good hire.

Hurley was rather impressive in his presser. I think he will retain most of the current roster.

Maybe the search is for a new conference, not a new coach?

Dick Vitale is getting senile in his old age. He needs to stick to this stale and old catchphrases.

Mark Schmidt has elected to stay at St. Bonaventure and is no longer a candidate at Pittsburgh, sources told ESPN. This make your day, @wojespn?
