You obviously were not present tonight or listening closely. Both sides have been mouthy about the umpiring. VERY mothy, and with reason. Warning for an obviously unintentional beaning. Obviously a walk for Jenista. Obviously a K in the 8th for ECU that was ruled a walk.

Blue has had a bad weekend, and both last night and tonight, BOTH team have let them know it.

It is pretty clear this on going series is going to be fun...I personally love that we have a new rival. Both teams have started something great. I hope it continues regardless of how this series ends. 04-cheers

MVC ump.

How do you know that? ECU radio called it out. Thats how. And can either group complain more than the other group about the Umpire crew? No. They have been awful, but equally awful.

Dreadful to think what influence they might have on tomorrow’s game.

Its college baseball. The officials are not as good as the MLB. Nothing more needs to be said. Teams have to put the mistakes behind them and plow on without letting it get to them. I saw a bad calls both ways tonight. That is to be expected.

Be clear that I wasn’t saying that they were helping or hurting either team. Just the guy was from the MVC.

He has worked a number of MVC games. And sucked then, but has somehow continued to advance. He tries to be TV Teddy of the diamond. All about him, and both broadcast teams seemed to notice that.

Some interesting goings on in the stands.... and yes, I heard a lot of chippyness on the field tonight as well between the teams.

If anyone was interested, here are my highlights of the last two games:

Game 2

Game 1

FWIW, I have ran into a few WSU media folks that are in the booth so to speak and I believe there was one photographer sent with them as well.

I hope, reading that thread, that it was what was said by the “E”, and then his response to the “parents” that got him kicked out and not pettyness.

I have been to about 6-1 ratio of road games versus home games the past few years, and I will say this: there is plenty of blame to go around in the **** talking department. All teams, and a good percentage of all players do it. Last night and tonight both I heard it from both teams.

I also saw the bat flips and talking to other bench in the 9th and after the game. That part I really dont have a problem woth as each player has a chance to shut up the other team.

Looking forward to rubber match.

You forgot ECU basketball. Jk.

But, a good rivalry decided on the field with intense competition is a great thing.

The past two games, the better team each night clearly won. Hope Blue doesnt keep the better team from winning tomorrow (truly whichever team it is).

Is there an AAC competition that smack talk doesnt happen? I was at UL v. LSU. Those dudes truly dont like each other. Inwas at WSU @ Houston. Those dudes dont like each other. A good friend was at Cincy v. Houston basketball. Those dudes dont like each other.

When competing at a high level, smack talk is part of the game. It is not for the faint of heart.

There is a difference in smack talk and lack of class.

Truth be told, my only entry into stuff going on in the stands was when I got home and read that thread. I was to focused on the actual game I had to shoot. I was merely pointing out some shenanigans in the stands to go along with the on field taunting or whatever you want to call it between the teams at different points in the game.

Everyone is talking about how WSU players are more focused on saying something instead of playing ball. No doubt the Shockers have an outstanding team. I just know Coach Godwin wouldn't allow our players to represent our University in that manner. Go Pirates!!!

He was talking about words directed at the other team not the umpires

Is there an AAC competition that smack talk doesnt happen? I was at UL v. LSU. Those dudes truly dont like each other. Inwas at WSU @ Houston. Those dudes dont like each other. A good friend was at Cincy v. Houston basketball. Those dudes dont like each other.

When competing at a high level, smack talk is part of the game. It is not for the faint of heart.

There is a difference in smack talk and lack of class.
Generally that difference is whether your favorite team is the one doing it

Or talking **** directed at individual players repeatedly throughout the game. That difference too
