Nice and sunny. A little wind. LOW 60s. Time to see what each team is made of.

Is there an AAC competition that smack talk doesnt happen? I was at UL v. LSU. Those dudes truly dont like each other. Inwas at WSU @ Houston. Those dudes dont like each other. A good friend was at Cincy v. Houston basketball. Those dudes dont like each other.

When competing at a high level, smack talk is part of the game. It is not for the faint of heart.

There is a difference in smack talk and lack of class.
Generally that difference is whether your favorite team is the one doing it

Or talking **** directed at individual players repeatedly throughout the game. That difference too

Nah that's smack talk if it's your guys doing it

No you don’t single out players unless you want more than words

ECU wins 5-0. Takes series 2-1, after getting clobbered in game 1. Have a feeling this could have gone the other way in Wichita. Great series Shocks. Well fought.

Pitching and defense ruled the day. Pirates got the timely outs to keep the Shockers off the scoreboard while ECU capitalized on the few hits we had.

Good lord y’all clobbered them in the 9th. It was 3-3 when I checked in and watch the game tracker till y’all made it 4-3

Ucf is fortunate not to be 1-5 in conference play instead of 3-3.

They are too damn inconsistent.

How the final game looked.

From where i was at, I heard one of our players complaining about whatever was being said out of the WSU dugout. Not sure what was being said because I couldn't hear it and nothing was really coming out from the side I was on. Nice way to get a series win.

I think the Pirates have to figure out these opener starts though, two straight really bad looking starts only to rebound in dominating fashion.

This is very true! I can look at things objectively though.

The schedule seems to favor ECU now with both UH and USF at home. The upcoming USF series should be very interesting....especially after coming off the far West trip to Seattle to face a very good Washington team. Don't though sleep on WSU, UCONN and UCF. I have a feeling the year end ECU/UCONN series in Storrs could be crucial. UCONN has the pitching and HF advantage is always big in college baseball.

The crazy thing is ECU has been playing this well despite playing most the season without arguably its best player in Dwanya Williams-Sutton. Additionally, key players in Turner Brown, Alec Burleson, Bryant Packard, Matt Bridges & Gavin Williams have all missed multiple games. I can only imagine where we'll be when fully healthy.

Looking at the standings, there is not an easy out in the lot. The AAC should get multiple teams in the tournament.

DWS played some outfield this week but still isn't allowed to hit. Ready to see him full strength. We haven't had a strong power game. ECU is tied for 104th place in home runs per game, with only 17 on the year. Compare that to an upcoming opponent NC State in 4th place with 42. I do like the way ECU is playing smart, taking advantage of every small mistake (most games), picking away piece by piece. That's good coaching.

I rather we stick to small ball. That works in any stadium regardless of the conditions. If you rely too much on the long ball a bad wind direction day could ruin you.

I thought there was lots of inconsistency around the league but what I'm seeing is that there's good pitching going on in this league.
