three years ago there were 4500 season tickets sold and that number increased this past season probably 5000 to 5100. Even in down years not a lot of seats open up (for sale) in the chair back sections...those holding the season ticket know they wont get that seat back and a lot of those that goes empty on game night have been held for years and years.

UTEP's attendance numbers always seem confusing and especially if they are counting sold tickets.

Lets do 2016 since thats what I have the dollar figures for.

FB 23,001 (161,004)
BB 7,385 (132,941)

Total attendance for FB & BB 293,945
UTEP list total dollars for tickets sold $1,988,231

Now Western

FB 17,705 (123,935)
BB 3,671 (58,745)

Total attendance FB & BB 182,680

Western list total dollars made from tickets sold $2,119,884

Western counts tickets sold just like everyone else.

nope, we sold out a game ( means over 7300 tickets sold) but listed 6800 in attendance (weather). WKU only listed butts in the seats

Which game was that? Right now I'm calling bull **** on this. It doesn't show up on your official records. No game with 6800 in attendance.

The university listed a few games as sellouts
MT (7759)
Marshall (7362)
ODU (7387) (allegedly the weather game) http://www.bgdailynews.com/sports/wku/wk...1b71d.html

The Toppers (22-7 overall, 14-2 Conference USA) welcomed an announced crowd of 7,387 on Saturday in their home finale to watch an 88-66 win against Old Dominion. That marked the third time this season that WKU fans exceeded Diddle Arena’s listed capacity of 7,326. The arena was full Saturday despite inclement weather, including a tornado warning that hit Warren County less than two hours before the 6 p.m. tipoff.

“I’ll say this here, I know we had some bad weather tonight, but that crowd showed up,” coach Rick Stansbury said. “The students showed up. They were into it. It makes a huge difference. I just want to say thank you again.”

Correct...twice a soldout game listed well below seats

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Below is the seating chart for Diddle Arena and you will not find 100 seats for sale in the priority 3 up in a down year. I beat there wasn't 25 unsold seats in this area this past season. Three of the corner green sections are mostly sold out. Section 207 (green) is for visiting fans but some season tickets holder sit there

Theres 1200 seats for students (yellow) the white 1-16 are 100k (use to be dont know about today) box/club seating and sold out.

Diddle official max is around 7300 - 1200 students but there are season ticket holders in sections 208-210 in the yellow

A lot more sold tickets than the listed avg attendance for 2016

FIU game was sold out but was cold and snowy and not as many students showed up as expected, that game was listed 6800 I believe...

FIU was officially a sell-out. Could not purchase tickets online or at the door pre-game. Announced attendance was 6,400ish. WKU does list butts in seat, not tickets sold.

Our attendance is embarrassing, but so was the play on the court the last two years. Definitely correlated.

Where is the evidence of this? Even if you produce it - which I doubt you can - doesn't mean this is standard practice. If weather caused half the people not to show up most schools wouldn't list it as a sellout. That's what's called an anomaly. There is absolutely zero evidence presented here so far that wkcc only counts actual attendance and not tickets sold.

Stop being the *******...the FIU game was soldout the ticket office was not open on game day and listed as soldout... the listed attendance was 6429

Come on we know you are (act like) the most informed person on this board but stop trying to act like you know everything about every school. Western SOLD more season tickets for 2016 than the listed avg attendance.

The listed attendance for the NICHOLLS game was 3378 and Western has way more season ticket holder than that.

Yeah because if you keep saying it then it makes it true. Call me what you will. Your statements are currently baseless. I don't keep up with y'all but when I looked today I see no evidence of over 7300 tickets being sold. The university didn't say it. The BG news didn't say it. The only people saying are some knuckleheads on a message board so pardon me for requiring a little more confirmation to believe it.

And truth be told I'm actually giving you guys more credit that you realize if in fact you are only counting actual, because only Sydney McPhee is dumb enough to require that only actual attendance may be counted.

What is also confusing is the ranking shows WKU at 5487, but if you average all the home games attendance #s (minus post season) the number is actually 5166.

Maybe the number in the ranking is actually WKU ticket sold? Or, the WKU MBB wiki page has wrong numbers.

Going by Diddle's official listing of 7336 seats (not counting box) and the article below
7336
1500 (actual less) season tickets unsold

Bring you to 5836 sold now lets remove the 1200 set aside for students and that brings you to at the very least 4636 season tickets sold on 9/25/2017

Now you couple of Middle fans can sit down and shut up about things you know NOTHING about.

I dont just talk to be talking...I usually know what in the hell I'm talking about. This is one of those cases

WKU head coach Rick Stansbury and the Hilltopper players will appear on WBKO programming throughout the day Wednesday, starting at 6 a.m. on "AM Kentucky."

Stansbury and the players will also make appearances on "Midday Live" and the evening news.

Only during Wednesday's Call-A-Thon with WBKO, reserved bench season tickets for Hilltopper Basketball will start at just $99 per ticket (less than $6 per game), with no limit on the amount of tickets purchased. Those tickets are regularly priced at $149.

Less than 1,500 season tickets for the upcoming Hilltopper Basketball season remain, including less than 100 chairback seats.

Tickets are available online at WKUTickets.com and by calling 1-800-5-BIGRED.

Cool. Now show us where it wasn't done just because of a bad weather situation.

Again, your administration are morons if they are only counting actual attendance.

Does WKU keep the money from unused sold tickets?

I think you might be the hardheaded one. I acknowledged that and conceded that it happened with FIU. What I was asking about was for this to be demonstrated as a policy for all the other games not just one game where inclement weather caused a bunch of people to not show up.

Average conference home tickets sold then is 3,671. Yikes?

Once again it proves that consistent winning sells tickets. It also shows that with the vast geographical spread of the conference there aren't a lot of pack the house games, due to travel restrictions, with the exception of the East Coast rivalries that have begun to take shape between MT, WKU, ODU, Marshall, UAB and Charlotte.

Good sign for Charlotte to average 4k when they suck that badly.

Let me just copy and paste a above post...I guess you missed it. Dont take my math for it...you can do it yourself. But going by the season tickets sold on 9-25-2017 and I'm sure there were more sold during the Call-A-Thon

a number of games early in the season had listed official attendance less than season tickets sold. So without one other person buying a walk up ticket (or season ticket on or after 9-25) or one student or one band member sitting foot in diddle on those games ...

the official listed attendance was less than season tickets sold with no one else buying a ticket or 1 student showing up. What part are you not understanding? I assume you can do math. I assume you can read the article. I assume you don't believe its made up. Hell maybe I should stop assuming?

KWC 3844
Nicholl St 3378
Wright St 4165
Indiana St 4412

A couple more , Tech & S. Miss was 4800 to 4600

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Going by Diddle's official listing of 7336 seats (not counting box) and the article below
7336
1500 (actual less) season tickets unsold

Bring you to 5836 sold now lets remove the 1200 set aside for students and that brings you to at the very least 4636 season tickets sold on 9/25/2017

Now you couple of Middle fans can sit down and shut up about things you know NOTHING about.

I dont just talk to be talking...I usually know what in the hell I'm talking about. This is one of those cases
