The HuskyU Collegiate Athletics Research Project (HUCARP) has come to the conclusion that any post-season contest Wichita hosts (in any sport) is gonna get sold-out.

Uh no, I was 100% right homeboy said Wichita would outdraw all of those schools and I said that Wichita would not outdraw all of those schools. They obviously would not. I’m not saying all of those schools would outdraw Wichita but Wichita would not outdraw all of those schools.

Rumor has it that Wichita wants to be one of the boys so I hear they're going to upgrade their High School football field to 30k

I can do another comparo with historical attendance ranks, and years spent in the various T25 publications as well, but it would have to be this evening. It would likewise be terribly lopsided in WSU's favor, but I'm cool with it if you are.

Those are some mighty fine measurements. No one is denying that Witchyta State has the most wonderful baseball program God ever created, but at least get your frickin facts straight.

ECU hosted regionals in 2001, 2004, 2009
Super regional host in 2001
Honorable mention: 1961 NAIA National Champions
God only knows what other stats you might have screwed up.

BTW, ECU has more NCAA tournament appearances this century than Witchyta even counting the ones vacated. Same number of CWS appearances and national titles this century.

If I've learned anything from the basketball discussion on this board, it doesn't matter how old the history is ... it still counts.

Ain’t that the truth?

I find this whole discussion sad. I didn’t realize there were some ECU fans that were so dense. This isn’t that hard to figure out.

Except I didn't say that. Feel free to use your mouse clicker and scroller wheel at this very moment.

I said WSU would only be outdrawn by Arkansas, should we host a regional, based on the BA list in the OP. I honestly missed Ole Miss, which is an obvious one whom we would not beat out. But barring the rapture occurring in a manner local only to Wichita, KS, WSU would be the third best attended regional out of that list. A claim based on verifiable history from... you know... the other ten freaking times we've hosted a regional, plus the physical capacity of a brick and mortar structure in existence as we speak.

What math is there to do? The math where if Wichita multiplied their season high attendance by 2 it would still be lower than ECU’s season high attendance and probably ~20 other programs’ around the country?

Exactly.

You’re comparing regular season figures coming off 5 straight years of suckitude to postseason numbers. Not valid bub.

Your honor,

DerpyPirate would kindly like to introduce wholly unrelated evidence to the case at hand.

Please reflect such in the court record.

Oh my goodness how dense are you, that is the question. You are literally saying that Wichita would outdraw all of the schools I listed except for Ole Miss which you now realize was stupid because you didn’t know any better because like I said earlier you guys obviously don’t get much news through the cornfields.

You guys keep talking about 2007 but Wichita was a National seed in their 6th consecutive NCAA appearance, there’s no camparison to what Wichita would be this year if they sneaked into a hosting bid after having made the tournament only once since 2009.

Wichita may outdraw some of those but not all of those no way in hell. We’re talking about a school yet to draw more than 2,500 people to a game this season.

HuskyU Collegiate Athletics Research Project (HUCARP):

2017 WSU Volleyball Regular Season Average Attendance: 1,591

2017 WSU Volleyball Post-Season Hosting Average Attendance: 7,258

That's a 356% increase.

So your 2,500 figure would see at least the same 356% increase (as WSU Baseball is at least as popular as WSU Women's Volleyball).

That's 11,400.

WSU's Eck Stadium holds 7,851.

In conclusion, WSU would sell-out Eck Stadium in post-season play.

The only thing less interesting than speculating on hypothetical baseball attendance figures is speculating on USF's hypothetical football attendance figures

Flaw in your transition. 2,500 is more than any Wichita crowd this season, not the average. The average is somewhere around 1,500 Id say without doing the math.

Wikipedia had it listed wrong where I looked. Certainly that’s less stupid than thinking Wichita will see a 400% increase in attendance.
