They'll certainly lose in Huntington, don't forget we will have the best defense and we also got rid of our biggest handicap which was Legg. Our offense will be productive again. Even if, by some miracle, FAU did well again, then someone is stealing Kiffin and back to below the cellar FAU goes.
Nobody in conference USA will ever be a consistent top 25 performer including Marshall

Just lol.
Our D will be better. You couldn’t even beat FIU last year.
Is this Don Blankenship?

Always wise to double check your grammar while disparaging the academics of another institution.

This is such a innocent, but newbie, comment. Yes, there have been a large number of teams get significantly more pre-season pub. (Because in reality, all this is simply generating from a single CUSA today).
Teams like 2013 NIU, 2010 Boise and TCU (who was G5 at the time), 2007 USF who reached #2, The Houston teams of Keenum and Kolb, 2004 Utah, and 2002 Marshall - with a Heisman candidate had an early game at ranked Va Tech that was the most watched Thursday college football game ever at the time - had strong national rankings and got significant national coverage.

USF played in the BigEast at that time and not a G5 member. Part of the BCS
But that doesn't change the [point you were making. I agree with you that other than this USA ranking not much other than the normal stuff.
Hell Marshall and Western were getting just as much national press after our championship. A number of publications had both schools (in their year) in the preseason talk of the G5 NYB.

Agreed, but we will be there more than you will.
People here are actually glad you have done something and won't kill respect for schedules for a short while. But the problem is, you had one decent year and you all think you're better than USM, Marshall, WKU, etc. You can't takw the attitude as a fan base, from being one of the worst teams in the nation and also one of the least cared about programs, and then act like you're ohio state in 10 months. Enjoy your success, but temper it with reality.

Fans? A college football atmosphere?
Just lol
You averaged 3k more fans than us this year.
You know that problem one has when your head of football operations wants to show the rings he's accumulated since he's been here, but has to ask for a recruit's hand to be able to show them all off at one time because he only has 10 fingers... #HerdProblems

Comparing the best season FAU has ever had with a first year head coach who will bring more excitement to FAU in his few years there than anyone before or after, to an average season in Huntington with a coach that is losing support...

I've only seen one poster act like that So stop acting like all fau fans said that or acted like that
Can you show me other examples of disrespect from fau or fiu fans on their conference mates? I don't think you can He doesn't speak for me or any other fau fan. I think all of those are good programs who I enjoy being in a conference with. That said , I won't bow to any program in cusa and think fau can compete with them. Plus we have value to the conference

Agree. Glad to see the good press. Some have little man issues that they have to take swipes at others. Hope FAU is unbeaten and ranked when they come to Huntington. That would surely put more butts in seats.

I don't know... I expect FAU and North Texas to play in the title game again. I know FAU lost their coordinators, but I don't know that Marshall is going to beat them. I'm leaning towards FAU until I see some games played.

Lol. Are you kidding yourself right now? I mean actual fans. Since FAU has maybe 500 fans at home games, i know you don't have a traveling fanbase, but if you care to come to Huntington sometime, you will actually see what 25,000-30,000 fans in the stands actually look like. Your announced attendance and the 5% of that thats actually in the stadium are very different things. Marshall fans outnunber your home fans every single year we play at your place.

You've also been around 100 years longer
Way less in state competition for sports with no pro teams and less big time college programs
Worse weather and less to do
Half the state is mountains and it's more isolated
Most people who live in West Virginia are from there. It's not a destination place. Florida has tons of transplants who stay loyal to their teams when they move
Ignoring those factors with desperate attendance smack is foolish.

I will never get a fan base making attendance cracks for schools a school that has had full undergrad since 1988 and football since 2001 vs that have 100-year history of alum and football. Congrats if we add 30-50 fans a year we will be you in 100 years.
