Just get the dang thing built. Now we have a “hard” date of Fall ‘19. Increase the visibility and promotion of this brick and mortar addition to the FB Program to ensure it happens as planned. Over 20yrs late. Go Go Go!

The older I get, the more I realize that things that happen in the private sector are not the way things happen in the public sector. If you want things done quickly and on time, you best be in the private sector since there are usually financial penalties involved and quicker decisions being made with little if any politics involved. Some people in the public sector, make decsions based on zero professional experience (in many cases decisions are made by lawyers with zero business experience) in that area whereas in the private sector...you better have vast experience in the subject and make the right decsions or you are out of a job (you are not up for reelection in 4 years by a group of people that have your same political beliefs regardless of the dumb decisions you made while in office).

IMO, it is Mark G’s role to question the postponement. The issue is whether the reasons cited (eg, TBR redtape) are the true main reasons or if something else more serious is the reason (eg, lack of funds).

Rudd was really pissed off by that last tweet. He had completely given up on the use of punctuation. Not a good look for a university president.

Isn't IPF still under the authority of the original board of regions as they approved the project before we got our own board.

If we had a newspaper with reporters rather than gossipy old women tweeters they might actually research it and write an article.

IMO, it's the role of the FB beat writer, but I fear that may be asking too much.

Good point. The Tiger football beat writer maintains a low profile concerning Tiger football, but he is quite active on Twitter with various interests including all things California.

The new football beat writer is so bad I don't even know who he is.

Meanwhile, a construction permit has already been filed for the $2 Million improvements the city council approved for LBMS just 3 weeks ago. I guess that is one benefit of having a sweetheart lease in a city owned stadium.

RE: Dr. Rudd playing defense on the tweeters
While I will always like the idea of an OCS, I am very happy with LBMS. We have proven it is not a barrier to having a winning program. It’s a great place to watch a game. Tiger Lane has been a home run. It could be a great home for us for the next 50 years or more. Last year was our first ever undefeated home season (we lost the bowl game). We could and probably should do it again in 2018.

Get a bigger tarp for the south end zone and reduce capacity to 50K. Take it off for the olemiss game next season.

Calm down It’s May! I think Evan is awesome. He appears to have bought into the community and culture. He tweets quite often and while it’s not always about Tiger football it often is. He gives good and timely information. He strikes me as hard working, energetic and savvy.

And tarp above the upper portals, reduce the capacity to 40K for all but the biggest game(s). They could then charge more for the more limited number of tickets and make more money. When you have an excess supply of tickets most every game, there value goes down. Mre people will
buy season tickets to ensure they dont get left out. As demand increases, starts reducing the tarpage until the whole dang thing is full.

Looks to be like finances/funding did play a role. Basketballs downturn hurt the overall cash-flow which is why bonds had to be issued. Rudd clearly points to that as a factor.
