William & Mary was founded as an Anglican institution; students were required to be members of the Church of England, and professors were required to declare adherence to the Thirty-Nine Articles.
Old Dominion University began its tradition of excellence when it was founded in 1930 by the College of William and Mary,

If you have a university that looks like a community college on a mill hill claiming to be in Nashville that’s wrong.

If you teach a class on you campus about the earth being 6000 years old and call it a science class you deserve ridicule.... Liberty does
If you have a founder who was a total fraud and con man who hid behind the bible and screamed religious persecution when called out you deserve ridicule... Liberty does
When you have 100,000 people as online students, you are a degree mill.... Liberty does
When you try and bribe your way into 2 conferences by trying to pay them 22 and 25 million dollars because you know no one wants your baggage, you are pathetic.... Liberty done that
When you make students go listen to your propaganda machine and its a requirement if you are a student on campus, then you aren't there to educate.... Liberty does that
When you discriminate against others for whatever reason and hide behind the bible again, you are just a bigot.... Those at Liberty do that
Want me to go on, I can continue all day if you like.
Degree mill? Better do some research there and find out how many online students the p5 schools have. Purdue just bought a global online school and Arizona St has 50,000 students in online degrees.
Not to pick nits, but I view a school with 60k on campus students and 50k online students quite differently than one with 15k on campus students and 100k+ online students.

Don't worry. It may take MTSU awhile to catch on but your school will be a "diploma mill" before you know it if the leadership in Murfreesboro has its wishes.

I truly believe it is wrong to marginalize an University over contemporary mores...In America, with our constitution, it should not continue to happen...

In order to have the same ratio of on campus to online students as Liberty, we'd need about 150k online students.
Middle will be just fine, but thank you for your interest.
Now kindly return to the independent board or Trump rally or wherever Liberty fans typically congregate until we have to see you guys again against UNT in a few weeks.

Nothing wrong with an online degree.
Nothing wrong with feeling that 100k+ online students is a dubious revenue stream for athletics.

Could you explain why the ratio matters to you in regards to MTSU? Is it that there should be some sort of age based Title IX policy that says for every 18-22 year old you have on campus, you can only have one 35-40 year old working adult, or military personnel, seeking education online?

Just to give you some facts to go with your view. For quite some time the city of Lynchburg actually would not allow LU to have anymore residential students past a cap at or near that 15k, until some major restructuring of roads and highways around campus took place. To this day I’m not sure if that cap has been lifted yet as I’m no longer living in the area. Once it is and the work has been done the gap between online and residential will be much smaller
Additionally Liberty was at the forefront in online education as they offered long distance programs over VHS in the 80’s which morphed into DVDs and then eventually became the online route. There are major universities in the SEC that have come to see how LU does their online program. Furthermore, LU has always wanted education to be affordable and accessible to the average person which is why their online degrees do so well. You’re only upset about something you don’t understand.

No one is paying that. Here’s a link to LU’s website with actual costs. You’ll also do well to take a look at the Financial Aid and discount numbers they have listed.

I think the point, however, is that it lists 9,360 for 24 hours. That's 390 an hour, which would still be 47k for a 120 hour bachelor degree. You can't discount pell grant, because not everyone gets it, and someone still pays it...the tax payer. I happen to agree it's too expensive, but it's not a Liberty problem, just an overall education problem. ODU charges 389 an hour for their online out of state tuition, MTSU charges 542.

Yea degrees aren’t cheap but LU makes them affordable through discounts on top of aid. They offer all kinds of discounts. Alumni, military, teachers etc. so that’s how they make it a bit more affordable. My point on all that first post though was about the gap between online and residential.
