Ther was a time when the Supreme Court only had two clerks. One for the Chief and one for everyone else. Now, I think everybody gets four to themselves. This is what enables them to hang on until they’re 85, 90, etc. The only thing they really have to do is be physically present for oral argument. If they started skipping that, I think there would be a public outcry. We soft peddle the evil intentions of their leadership, and then some of the most vacuous education ever to be passed through public schools for the past 30 years have given them their brainless minions who are easily manipulated by their social media. Education programmed them not to think but to respond with the expected answers and social media prompts them to do the same by getting likes. It's the most God awful Pavlovian conditioning I've ever witnessed. The poor have always voted for whoever promises them the most freebies. But these elections are only close now because of the vapid intellects of 2 generations of publicly educated middle class kids who had that egregious high school education affirmed by even more leftist ideology during their college course work.
I went back later in life for a Masters at a top AAU school and couldn't believe what I saw daily in the form of indoctrination instead of education. I got out of there 3rd in my class because (a) I already had an undergraduate from an era when logic and reason were part of preparation for all post graduate work, and (b) I learned to use their buzz words which the profs scanned written work to find, but I reworked them so that they represented my thoughts and not theirs. I would have gotten docked had any of the profs actually bothered to take in what I was saying instead of scanning and grading. At least I can count on those encouraging others to be intellectually lazy to be intellectually lazy themselves.
When out I encouraged conservative donors to become active within the school. It was an ouch moment for the administration.
We have to fight the fight every day. That means we can't let the leaders off lightly and must shine a light on their self interests and their hypocrisy at every turn. And it means that the ones we have to treat lightly are the recent graduates of our state schools both high schools and universities and gently reeducate them. That takes patience.
I get frustrated with this board sometimes because there is so much rancor between the left and the right that we aren't factually educating anyone. In that regard it is no better than Dante's first bolgia in hell.

The faculty of the University of Texas has been pretty far left for a long time. When I was in school I had an Economics professor who had worked in the Kennedy administration. He jokingly said on election day, "I can tell a lot of you haven't been paying attention from all the Ford buttons" (Still have my Texans for Ford button-Texas was a very Democratic state then). But when he lectured, he just as fervently presented the Monetarists viewpoint as he did his Keynesian views. He was probably my best professor there despite having him in one of those 300 student lecture classes.

I don't necessarily agree RGB's political lean, but she has been a very good justice, was confirmed without a fight, has served her country well, and I have a high respect for her. It does look like it's time for her to retire...I would wish her well.
