Selling the rights to the city or Coca-Cola or someone? We need to start having events/concerts there. It's just sitting there rotting away with an incompetent coaching staff.

It's a damn shame that when we built the payne center we didn't just incorporate it in/around RGC and renovate the whole damn thing.

It's against state law to give naming rights to government buildings, that includes stadiums and arenas unfortunately. It's probably to stop the travesty of PornHub Pavilion.

But yes, something has to be done.

To the ECU fans, it's not that he's a bad guy, it's just that he hasn't really done anything. He's not a vocal leader in a time when we desperately need one. He's never even given a real vision for our athletic program, just constantly asked what the fans' visions were. Just felt like when you talked to him, it was falling on deaf ears. That may be all him, or it may be his inability to get things done due to other circumstances outside his control, but nothing happened at all in a time where we need things to happen.

Can't we just sell the building all together with the caviet that basketball/graduation is allowed?

Probably not. You'd end up having to sell the land as well, and that'd get hairy.

The best bet would be to get a bond issue going to pay for the needed upgrades. Advertise it less about the basketball experience and more about bringing in concerts and other entertainment to the city with the upgraded quality.

Different perspective on Gilbert: Got us several good series lined up, including working out a deal where we have a money game with MSU and a separate 1-1 (better than a 2-1 because we get a pay day). The Rock looked horrible and the sound system was horrendous, he raised the money to get both fixed over the summer. Got our colosseum repainted and added a new scoreboard system that is vastly superior to what was there. Realised that a major project the previous AD had set up (Bower Academic Center, supposed to be built into The Rock) wasn't possible as planned (structural upgrades needed would cost more than a new building) and found a new home for it (1 floor of the Library). Negatives include that the Bower Center still isn't complete and I don't know if he's ever hired a HC in any sport while here, but definitely not for the big sports. I could see him maturing into a great AD or failing to ever rise above the current level. He is a big upgrade over the guy he replaced, but neither stayed very long.

Gilbert is between a rock and a hard place if he doesn’t get your job.

You're on the clock Southern Miss. Don't make ECU's mistake.

Honestly, I just want someone with a vision for our program and the charisma to get our fan base off our hands. No more blah blah boring guys. Our fan base needs someone who will excite them about our future and where we’re headed.

I'm sure he is on his way to Greenville, losing sleep over the **** storm that is ECU right now, instead of losing sleep over the **** storm he left at USM.

If you truly believe there are any USM fans that care at all whether he has Twitter, you’re living in some special reality of your own.
