Good to see the rules about trolling don't apparently extend to the mods here...

Ah yes, the classic definition of trolling. Posting things usf fans don't like to hear.

When a mod posts an editorial aside ("I'd ask USF, but i'm certain they'd have no issue either") that is simultaneously incorrect (there are few certainties in life, but one is that USF would NEVER accept a 2 for 1 with UCF, and you of course know that) and intended exclusively to troll USF fans, yes, that is the classic definition.

Some people apparently don't understand the Memphis area with regard to sports. We're right in the middle of sec Country and playing local SEC teams is a positive for Memphis. First is probably a sell-out about 60,000 seats stadium and second, will be at the top of local sports talk daring that week - not only at the water cooler but in the sports media. It's a win-win as far as I'm concerned.

Honestly I would have done this even without the $1000000 for the last game. The fact that Memphis is getting a million dollars for that third game makes this a no-brainer in my opinion.

Thats the about the exact same pay USF got for Lville, UF, Miami and Alabama. glad to see there are others that can see this type of setup as a reasonable option instead of letting it go to another conference.

No...stop misleading people with false statements. You are NOT getting $1 million for a single game vs either Florida or Louisville and I doubt if you are from Miami either.

Would not have all of this been true just the same if you demanded, and got, a 1-1 deal with Arkansas?

You guys just came off a friggin home and home with UCLA. There's little reason to think you couldn't have gotten one with Arkansas who occupies the SEC cellar every year with Vanderbilt.

So you'd be in favor of your Bearcats doing a 2 for 1 with Pitt/Cuse/Rutgers?

Oh yeah. If they're issuing an adequate visitor's check, of course. Like I said, it's not that they're better than us.

The answer is clearly no we can't get a home-and-home with Arkansas or Tennessee. this has been mentioned on them Memphis board and by the administration. Two teams our fans I want to see Memphis play and hopefully beat. So the alternative is to not play them at all? I like the two for one with a million dollars better --- it's not like programs in this conference are swimming in money or home and homes with local P5 teams.

with all sarcasm set aside, nice Series Memphis. Go hammer those pigs.

the fear was that usf would create a trend and normalize it...making it harder for other aac to get 1 and 1s..aftecting negaotions for other AAC teams in scheduling games

usf fans posting other aac doin 2 for 1s right after them isnt vindication for usf...its the opposite, its exactly what we feared

I just read your board and it seems like the intention behind this scheduling agreement largely revolves around the fact that Arkansas fans will help sellout the Liberty Bowl where excess inventory exists. About right?

And some programs in this conference actually do swim in money when they play home games.

2-for-1 series with P5 opponents are fine with me under the following conditions:

1 - The P5 opponent is one that will draw interest (Arkansas would qualify, as they are SEC and local)
2 - The first home game is at the AAC stadium (check)
3 - The AAC school gets paid (check)

Meh - the truth is somewhere in between...

Louisville details can be found here: https://www.thedailystampede.com/2018/1/...-strong-p5

Louisville will pay USF $1.2 million, USF will pay Louisville $200,000 (so, in essence, an extra $1 million).

Florida contract is here: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/...tract.html

UF is paying an extra $500K for that third game, so decidedly not $1 million.

Haven't been able to find the Miami contract (here's a link to a USF site trying to get the details: https://www.thedailystampede.com/2019/5/...nny-diaz).

Cool story. I guess by such lax definition of trolling we should just ban everyone with a critical comment of another program. This board is on lockdown effective immediately. (disregarding the fact that that rule, which I helped create went into effect to counter the massive G4/P6 war that was stirring inter-board conflicts, and was mainly devised as a way to keep members on their own home boards and not venturing outward to troll)

Bottom line is, you don't like what's being said, and you think that mods aren't allowed to have differing, critical opinions for some strange reason.

But sure, keep on deflecting the issue.

I don't like people who are ostensibly charged with maintaining a sense of fairness writing intentionally incorrect and inflammatory things and then whining about it when called on their BS. Call me old fashioned.

Not sure where you read that on the board...saw ONE comment about eastern AR fans being happy about the series until they got beat. The complaints were better home games for Tiger fans to come out and see. Ole Miss has a bigger fan base in Memphis and doesn’t outnumber Tiger fans when they play, not sure why it would be any different with Arkansas.

ETA: Dr. Rudd has been clear about upgrading the schedule with opponents Tiger fans want to come out and see. No doubt the LB is too big for G5 teams to bring out casual Tiger fans. Gotta grow the base any way you can.

This conference is a damn joke

A 2-1 with Bama I understand
A 2-1 with UF and even Miami can be argued for

BUT Arkansas???

Anyone who signs a 2-1 with Arkansas should automatically be demoted to the MAC

Congratulations I didn't think UCF could do it but it is now official you have dethroned Texas Tech as the worst fan base in sports.
