If memory serves, the Humiliating Shutout Loss suffered by MT today is second only to the 45-0 thrashing that cost us the SunBelt Championship back in 2012 when Coach Stock's Boyz pooped in their mess kit against Arkansas State. Basically Army, Navy and to an extent Air Force tell you they are going to run on just about every play and then say "Now Stop it".

Look, the entire game MT played a base defense as if they were facing a “normal” team. It was 4-3 with two safeties 10 to 12 yards off the ball the entire game. A monkey could literally have schemed better today defensively. Of those 62 runs about 50 used an unbalanced line. MT never once moved another defender to the unbalanced side to account for the “extra blocker”. Even the color analyst commented on this numerous times during the game.

So here’s the rub. Either the coaching staff is just 100 percent incompetent or they just didn’t really care and weren’t trying to win the game.

Sadly, the answer is it’s a mixture of both as the end of the first half clearly demonstrated. Stockstill did what he does 99% of the time which is to treat non-conference games like scrimmages. Which makes absolutely NO sense when you only get 12 games a year.

As has already been stated, we have complete and utter incompetence that starts at the top in Presidents office and trickles down to every facet of our athletics dept. It’s both embarrassing and so difficult to be an MT alum. I truly regret not going somewhere else for my masters. It’s really hard to fathom just how clueless and incompetent our “leadership” is and I use that term loosely.

He accepted blame. Even acknowledged they called a freeze from the sideline. In spite of him taking responsibility it doesn’t matter. It is simply inexcusable. It’s a pattern of ridiculous mistakes from the sideline over a long period of time that illustrates that Stockstill is unfit to serve as head coach.

Moreover, yesterday was - IMO - the worst loss in school history.

Yeah the Triple Option is hard to stop. With little or no Spring Football and then limited summer, I am not sure if I was the coach I would have overly focused on it, because you will see it once and then not see it again all year. But I don't think the beating should have been that bad. Not surprised Army scored, but that Middle didn't score at all is not a good sign.

I think many of Army's opponents this year are not gonna be as prepared as they would have been in a normal year.

Rice and wkcc gave up a total 22 points combined last year to this team. There is no sugar coating this just because it’s an option team. There have been some epic losses particularly at home that were inexcusable, but this - by far is the worst loss because the pure lack of preparation in any phase and the way we just got completely dominated on both sides of the ball by an mid level independent coming off a losing season. There is no silver lining from that game.

Let’s put it this way. With the way this program has been recruiting and the complete and utter incompetence this staff has to develop any talent it would be a toss up for us with EKU.

I still got MT beating Charlotte, Rice, and North Texas. But, I am feeling a little better about our game.
