Get back in line, UAB, Southern Miss and Marshall have a better shot than ODU ever does.

Sure 07-coffee3. What ever you say.

Okay, then let me ask you an honest question. Because I only give out feedback that I feel is the truth. Do you honestly believe that ODU has a real shot of ever joining the American?

And why?

Honest Answer, No. I believe we still have ways to go before we become meaningful in the eyes of TV execs and thus in the eyes of AAC. The other statement you made is also equally ridiculous. Believe what ever you will but there is a reason why USM, Marshall and UAB were left behind when so called AAC teams moved on. Of all of the three you mentioned UAB has the best chance and fit if it ever comes to that and i believe it would take some serious realignment for that to even happen. I know couple of ODU folks are complaining about ODU not being a fit in CUSA and has truth to some degree but at FBS and G5 you aren't going to find many choices that fits anyone the best. It is what it is. We will see you guys on the FB field next season.

I echo some of this as well. No, we are not up to the AAC. What I think all CUSA schools would agree on, in an honest moment, is a complete G5 reorganization resulting in regional conferences. It ain't personal...it's business. If there's a compelling reason to play former CUSA members once this happens- that can be an OOC option (home and away). Same goes for Hoops and Olympic sports.

RE: Baylor Being Idiots
I believe that no one in any of the G5 conferences are perfectly suited for AAC at this point. Heck I would venture to say that there are a few that shouldn't have gotten in the last go round. The other issue here is the concept that the next round of expansion and change is going to be based off of the criteria used the last go round. I am fervent in my belief that there were major failures in criteria used to change the landscape last time. Market and Budget were grossly overvalued. Now we are in the middle of a major "Athletic Recession" which will prove to be costly for many who gambled and lost. Stability and Culture are very important for the changes to come. I also believe that common sense geography are a must. CUSA are two separate entities with a mutual interest. There are a few programs that could swing either way but the fact is clear, El Paso to Norfolk is 2,005 miles. That's too far to travel for a one bid league to be sustainable.

Damn, that was fun to read. CUSA is starting to find its groove. Now if only those sun belts pricks would stay away and know their place.
