Making it thru a whole season and into the playoffs is an accomplishment this year. Of couse we'd all like to host and advance a few rounds. Harder when teams aren't traveling and conferences aren't doing as much OOC.

I continue to be more optimistic on Covid postponements. Cases are down about 2/3s. We're heading to warmer weather. Vaccinations are snow balling. I think we get in 25-30.

However, game 2 later that day vs GW in Charlottesville (5:30pm) is likely Live Stats only.

UVA has 2 weekends and 7 games under their belts already (currently 3-4 record). GW has lost their first 4 games scheduled due to postponements (I'm of course assuming COVID issues, not sure due to whom) so if they show in C'ville this weekend it will be their first action of the season. If they don't show, it is possible JMU and UVA will do a doubleheader and the 2nd game will be on ACC Network. I guess we'll see.

Dukes taking care of business at UVA. Up 5-0 in the top of the 7th. Good way to start the season assuming the Good Gals finish this off. CC pitching another gem.

Dukes explode in the top of the last. Down 4-1 going to the last inning, the Good Gals have struck for 6 to take a 7-4 lead and still batting. WOW!

Good Gals in Purple win 8-4 over GW. Finish off a successful opening weekend Saturday in Charlottesville with a 2-0 record.

I really don't want to start a fight (I promise). But it seems really obvious to me that the reason cases are plummeting is that holiday gatherings caused a huge spike, everyone realized "oh damn we have to stay separated", and they dropped. Now that they're down, it doesn't mean it's not a threat anymore, I think it just proves that we need to stay separated! At least until we get more vaccines and only be around other people outdoors and masked. That's fine for the spectators, but for the players, I think the risks aren't any different than they were last March, last July, or last December.

JMU is #34 in the other's receiving votes category, followed by Liberty at #35.

JMU plays Liberty in their second game on Saturday. Not a lot of quality opponents on this year's schedule. They need to win this one, and style points would not hurt.

If we want to slide into the top 25 we gotta win just about all of these games.

Yeah, that really sucks. For starters, the vast majority of programs got a 2 weekend head start (read: 8 to 10 games) before we even played our first game. In weekend #3 when we start we only get 2 games in (thank goodness for the comeback in Game 2 over GW). And now, we are on the shelf during weekend #4. The top programs that we want to call our peers will potentially be playing their 18th to 20th games this upcoming weekend while we are still at just 2 games played going into the 5th week/weekend. Crap!

Anyway, the programs that don't have many "pause" problems seem to have a strict "no interaction for others outside our bubble" Other programs that seem to have more problems aren't willing to make some of those sacrifices. Does the student-athlete want to have a good chance of playing a mostly full season or do they want to have a more normal "real life" as a student? Covid sucks for most of us but sucks a little more trying to be a college student and a student athlete.

If you think explaining a position you've now expressed twice has the potential to get you in trouble, I think that tells you a lot more about what you're doing than what I'm doing.

Frankly, the fact that you, specifically, would make a joke about banning me after making a bizarre, unexplained, unsubstantiated claim is pretty poor form.

I took it to mean posters like DukemanX don't follow women's sports. I don't think there's a fight to be picked over it.
