You have very low standards for a "rivalry" game. UTSA and UNT are only "rivals" because for some strange reason some folks want to manufacture one instead of letting it grow organically.
It's grown organically. You should pay more attention.
2013- UTSA ruins UNT's chance at the western division title
2015- Halloween... After suffering the humiliating Portland State loss, interim coach Mike Canales led UNT to our first win over UTSA. It was our only win of the season.
2016- AD Wren Baker calls UTSA, "...a community college trying to move up". UTSA won the game and were shipped out to the New Mexico Bowl with their 6-6 record, while UNT with our 5-6 record played in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.
2017- "The Drive"
2018- UNT wins after UTSA missed a 48 field goal attempt with no time on the clock.
2019- UNT handed UTSA their worst conference loss of the season in a 45-3 victory, and Frank Wilson was fired.
2021- UNT ends UTSA's undefeated season and earns a bowl birth.
Find me a more compelling series in the state of Texas or any G5 conference over the last 9 seasons. You can't.
