Hospitalization numbers remain flat with omicron. Everybody in there now is because of delta.

And the capacity isn’t the issue. It’s the staffing that’s the problem. And the reason there are short staffs is because of all the vaccine mandates which scrubbed out a lot of people that were already employed in a place not many want to work in.

THAT is the issue. Not covid itself. And certainly not with omicron.

The hospital I work for has 153 of 750 beds blocked right now due to staffing shortages, they'd have travelers in here in a heart beat of they need those beds opened.

Yeah, this is a problem. I think a solution is to create tent hospitals for those who have covid and were voluntarily unvaccinated, with minimal staff resources dedicated to them. They shouldn't be allowed to clog up the hospital and ER beds for regular patients. The latter should be prioritized for beds and doctor/nurse attention.

That would also eliminate a key reason cited by liberal politicians for imposing masking and other restrictions on the general population, that we must do this to prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed, etc.

But then where do you draw the line? Prioritize non-smokers over smokers in the cancer wing? Rank heart patent care based on who was eating healthiest? One line at the ER for actual accidents and another for people who got hurt doing dumb things?

Bingo. You will never hear this on any of the msm though. They way you to think that 750 bed hospital is full of patients, not full of empty heds without nurses to staff them.

Military Bowl CANCELED (ECU vs BC)
Supposedly 4 of 5 BC offensive linemen opted out on the 23rd. I would suspect their starting QB with an injured hand probably said he wasn't going to play behind the second string line and that was the final straw. BC still won't say how many players actual have covid. ECU had 5 positives, and only 3 were players from what's been reported

Teams like BC are using Covid as an excuse. They have more to lose as a P5 playing a G5 with a bunch of players opting out or heading to the portal.

Heck, BC tried to quit mid game against UC in Birmingham a couple years ago. The ACC seems to have collectively used the dog ate my homework excuse.

Sucks for ECU fans who would have had a blast.

Last year the vaccine was not widely dispersed or available. This year it is. If by taking the vaccine you are less likely to have a severe case and the protocols say you can test out of quarantine quickly how did it come to this? ECU's coach said early pre season that all but one player had been vaccinated on the team. What was the vax rate at BC. I'd be curious. If they had 100% why couldn't the infected players test out of protocol quickly? Lots of questions. Not just for this incident but others. The pros seem to have their protocols better defined and working at some levels.

For this pandemic, you draw it where I suggested, between voluntarily unvaxxed covid-19 patients and everyone else. We can worry about heart attack victims who ate themselves to death later, etc.

BC quit the First Responder Bowl in 2018 as well (vs. Boise).

I could see BullShiite like this leading to major changes to the bowl system in the future. If you though bowls were irrelevant before Covid… just wait. Between the expanded playoffs and opt outs I am beginning to wonder if Bowls should just go away.

They should, but that's been the case for a while. Too many people are making money off of them though, for them to disappear tomorrow.

I guess is only real when it hits you personally. But hey no one is changing anybody’s mind on this or any other internet board.
