I think a fair compromise is agreeing to schedule a few games with CUSA teams in the future, compensate them with exposure.
Even better if the teams are close by and it's not a travel burden... everybody wins!!!

CUSA burned the bridge with ESPN and now they're burning a bridge with the SBC 3. Heck, ESPN needs the 2022 schedule ASAP and CUSA is holding it up. Not a good look in my opinion, I'm sure ESPN is taking notes.

I wouldn't say holding members to their contracts as burning bridges. Having 3 members leave makes the conference worse for the remaining members- the conference has no reason to just willingly let that to happen without compensation. Since ESPN is very antsy to make this happen, it seems that CUSA would hold some leverage and is possibly showing some initiative for once but it's also Judy running it so who really knows.

Unfortunately the SBC 3 are trying to negotiate, but CUSA won't respond and is dragging their feet.

Man, between our slump and the latest iteration of C-USA I just got apathetic about the whole thing, I couldn't even tell you who was in our conference anymore. Forget trying to find what channel or medium to watch games on... I will admit I thought it was pretty convenient when games showed up on Facebook, if not embarrassing.

If the Sun Belt schools are pissed off, conference is looking out for our own interests for once. Good job.

I agree with a flat exit fee of $1 mil. from each departing university.

Totally. It's just a shame they weren't more proactive during the rest of our tenure in this league.

It could also be argued that cusa was made whole when they made the additions of Liberty, NMSU, Jacksonville St, and SHSU in terms of members. It’s going to depend of who joins and when.

Contracts are broken and litigated all the time..

Lots a folks playing lawyer right now.

As salacious and charged as message-board folk want this sorta thing to be, I'm pretty sure the resolution is going to be pretty mundane and uninteresting.

Part of the penalty should be staying on their own message boards instead of spamming other conference boards with how awesome the sun belt is. It would keep their insecurities to their board too

C-USA should immediately release the conference schedule. Create another layer complication and create more damages arguing arrangement were made by the members to travel to these games, etc.

Well that was our initial offer along with a couple $50 gift cards to Olive Garden. If you want us gone call the league office and tell them to accept.

I went and read it. There was nothing there. Just more speculation. No links, no sources, just message board posters speculating and arguing 'my side good, other side bad'.

Doesn't effect my school. We are gone after another year no matter what. I don't care either way. Just tired of laughing at the sun belt pimps coming on other boards. They are so happy and secure that they have the need to convince everyone how awesome they are. Sure ...

There are 9 schools leaving CUSA for a reason (and two more that looked into the MAC). That's 11 schools that wanted out of CUSA. I wonder how much of that is CUSA's Administrations fault? Hmmm?
