Well, this is warranted. Definitely a post that didn't age well. 03-lmfao For the record, I still question why Baker takes so many, BUT... Siddle coaches this team, and I don't think there's a coach in the country that has coached a team with this amount of comeback in them, all year long.
There is something to be said for not letting your team quit 1000%.... There is also something to be said for having your team ready and not digging such big holes..... two sides to the coin(always happy to play devils advocate)

81, I appreciate your response to Proff and triangle. And it looked to me like you were insinuating, when Hoops mentioned about if the game got out of hand, it was already out of hand. I do apologize if that wasn't the case.

I saw a video on Twitter from Walk'Ons. A nice group of Seahawks turned out today and got a solid result

UNCA up 2 with just under 15 minutes to go in the 2nd half

A UNCW - UNCA matchup on ESPN2 would be something that no one would have ever predicted

If i was in town and retired or unemployed i'd have definitely gone.. haha.
Walk ons is a pretty great sports bar, be interested to see what kind of a crowd there will be tomorrow when the 9-5'ers can go!

Other times you have to give some credit to the opposing team. Drake was outplaying us and was shooting well above their season average for most of the game. Luckily our guys didn't give up and finally figured some things out.

They played well, but our defensive intensity was pretty soft which allowed them to get easy shots and shoot so well.

The problem is we also host EZU in baseball tomorrow at 6:00. We don't need their fans outnumbering us in our house. This is a dilemma for some of us.

I still stand by that comment, but Coach Siddle made a great adjustment getting Thomas involved there. I don't think anyone with any basketball knowledge, in their right mind, would ever empty the bench with 14+ minutes on the clock (I think that's about how much time was left). Thomas has been an energy factor throughout the season. On the court, and on the bench. It's immeasurably valuable to give him good minutes in games like these before next season. I feel like the last couple games are going to give him a lot of confidence growing into his sophomore season. Plus, in my opinion, he's deserved them in the way he keeps his teammates charged up when he's off the court too. We saw plenty of that in comebacks this season when he didn't get playing time. Seems like a really great kid.

I'm enjoying my forum rookie status regardless.

If you have a smartphone, you should be able to attend the baseball game and also watch/listen to the basketball game.

That's what I plan to do.

Don't think it's been mentioned here, but coach Kanaskie was head coach at Drake from 1996 to 2003. Wonder if it's a bittersweet win for him.

RE: #1 Drake - GAME 32 - CBI Quarterfinals
Just watched the game again. Second half it was back and forth for the Hawks'. Drake wasn't extending the lead but we weren't closing the lead either. Stayed right at 20 pts. down until the 9:59 mark. Went to a tv timeout and Thomas came in. The score was 64-45.

Thomas, Okauru, Phillips, Fornes and Baker on the floor now, Harvey sits.

9:20 Thomas starts dogging their PG on defense and they take a bad shot late in the shot clock and miss. Baker outlets to Thomas who goes full court, drives and gets the and 1 against their PG (#1)64-49.
9:04 Thomas gets the defelction against their PG, we get the TO and go full court where Okauru scores 64-52.
UNCW gets the stop.
8:13 Thomas gets the ball in the corner, drives and draws the foul on the shot. Makes two FT's and the score is 64-54.
7:40 UNCW gets the stop on a Baker block then Phillips is called for the charge on the next play
7:33 Hawks' pick up full court and Baker draws the charge 64-54
7:24 Phillips drives and scores 64-56.
7:04 Hawks' press, Phillips gets the steal, drives and scores 64-58
6:31 Hawks' get the stop, then Okauru TO
6:20 Drake scores 66-58
5:45 Fornes hits a three 66-61
5:17 Drake socres 68-61
4:55 Phillips scores 68-63
4:32 Thomas gets a deflection and Drake turns it over
4:21 Okauru with the missed three.
3:57 Drake is fouled and hits a FT 69-63
3:49 Baker hits a three, 69-66
3:24 three second call on Drake and Thomas comes out.

Thomas came in for right at six minutes. During that time the Hawk's outscored Drake 21-5 and a 19 point lead was cut to 3. Amazing.

It was a game where two or three chains were warranted.

Saw some video on social, looks like Phillips got it, then passed it to Thomas.

Shy definitely carried the offensive weight, Thomas changed the entire flow of the game.
