O line is so trash. He has no time back there. I feel like they aren't letting TH scramble as much anymore either.

RE: Taylor Heinicke
Fine stats by Heinicke. He’s the best QB on the team. Unfortunately still not good enough to put this team in the playoffs.

The worst part will be enduring the moronicisms emanating from this horrible fan base this week.

Just so unbelievably terrible. I am so mad. Don't like to blame officials, but.... they absolutely changed the outcome of this game. SEVERAL times.

I'm so ******* mad. I hate blaming refs, but if the hose job wasn't in idk what you call it. They missed two DPI back to back early in the game. On the last drive Terry clearly asked the line judge was he good and the ref signaled yes and the call for illegal formation was made from the other side of the field! Edit..( Apparently the same Ref called it?) That's even worse! Took away a TD. Then DB is riding Samuel like a damn horse and they swallowed their whistle. Everyday of the week this is a
DPI.

RE: Taylor Heinicke
You have to score more than 12 points to win. I feel like Heinicke had decent stats, but you need to score points. He has to take care of the football as well. And when you run empty and the play is designed to get the ball out on your drop (Rivera confirmed), you gotta get rid of the ball somewhere. It cost the team 7 points. The Giants had 1 TD drive all game.

He's def. the best QB on the roster as of now but its not good enough. We see him get in rhythm and that is fun to watch. Once he gets on a roll, he really can move the ball. But, there are too many lulls and/or turnovers. Its like every game he looks like a pro bowl QB in 1 half and like Daniel Jones in the other half. He hasn't been able to put 4 quarters together for whatever reason.

The calls were frustrating. The OPI that was clearly not....why would Dotson pick the defensive back that was covering him....that makes no sense. The illegal formation where McClaurin confirmed the ref told him he was good....was just odd. Its never called and happens multiple times per game. I don't remember it every being called after the WR confirms he was good like Terry says the ref verbally told him. Im ok with "letting" them play but you cant make a game changing bear hug of a WRer. That you cannot overlook. The Commanders were on the wrong side of all of the game changing calls.

This team has too good of WRs to have an inadequate passing game. It needs to be fixed. Having said that, he's the ideal backup QB if they can keep him after this year.

Mostly agree. The fumble in the red zone was his worst play all night. That just cant happen. A lot of the offensive woes go on the OLine and the playcalling in my opinion. Inside handoffs to Curtis Samuel, never throwing on first down, fear of going on 4th inside the opponent 40, Logan Thomas having a **** game. Lots of blame to go around.

The penalties were just killer though. Not just at the end of the game either. Really really tough way to go down. I can't remember being so mad at the end of a game.

The play call that got to me the most was on the second WSH drive of the second half. 3rd and 3 from the WSH 32 and they hand it off to Samuel up the middle for only 2 yards. There are at least 2 other RB's on the roster that are at least 25 pounds heavier than Samuel.

Exactly. Robinson is a monster and he's on the sideline there. 4 designed runs for Samuel this game and they went for a total of like 2 yards. SAME PLAY each time. Just what the heck were they thinking there?

Unfortunately I think Taylor has to play well this weekend to keep his job and he is up against a tough team.

Agreed. I think we can still make the playoffs going 2 of 3 which would put us at 9-7-1 and even that would need some help with the Seahawks and Lions losing two down the stretch. But yeah I think we have to steal this game against the 49ers.

It feels like the San Fran game will be his last opportunity. If they don't win or look REALLY good in a loss, I think Carson gets the nod next week...I'm pulling for our guy. I think he's being scapegoated a bit behind a really poor O-Line and questionable playcalling.

It stinks because its so exciting seeing him play. But, I think he's the best QB on the roster but has not played well at all except for certain stretches.

I'm still suffering shock over this game... it was my playoff game. with everything on the line.

and we blew it, and TH had a mediocre game.

I normally watch the game replay, but not this time.

That being said, I think we still somehow qualify for the playoffs... because this is the NFL.. and it aint over till it's over.

I don't think Taylor played poorly, he only made on truly bad throw. He didn't miss to many reads, while the fumbles were brutal his O-line didn't handle the blitz well and he had zero opportunity to throw or scramble mort of the time.

That hand off to Samuel got blown up every time they ran it, and the refs blew it several times.

Other than the fumbles, I don't see much more TH could have done.

I agree. While he didn’t play well, he didn’t play particularly poorly either. The first fumble was not on him, just a great play by Kayvon. The second was definitely on him though. I’ve heard some fans complain he should have dove for the pylon on that scramble to the right pylon. It definitely was not there and he knew it which is why he pulled the ball back. He took a vicious hit on that play and was in visible pain afterward. The camera person tried to get a closeup of him and he pushed him away.

There's no shame in coming to the conclusion that TH is an upper-tier backup QB. He has proven now that he can stay healthy and stay in the league.

At 29, he will likely get a 2 or 3 year deal somewhere at $5-$7M per year.
