Tech also got Decoldest Crawford earlier this week. He was an LSU commit last year who signed with Nebraska, got hurt in fall camp and missed the entire season. He has all four years left but it's tough to get excited about that anymore since any of these guys can leave at any time. It's just one year at a time these days.

Decoldest Crawford, former Nebraska WR and LSU commit, announces new program

One of the best names in college football has found a new home.

DeColdest Crawford announced via Twitter on Sunday that he was committing to Louisiana Tech.

The 6-0, 180-pound wide receiver is leaving Nebraska after one season. He also had formerly been committed to LSU as a member of the 2022 recruiting class.

So I gather La Tech off loaded their back up QB to UAB and stole a four year starter at Boise from FAU. That’s a win-win in my book at the expense of the new AAC

The prestige top dog (AAC) of the G5 has completely gone away now that the dominant and best schools have left the AAC for the Big 12

And the recruits and transfers have notice the drop in the AAC now that the conference has been watered down with the likes of FAU, North Texas, UTSA

On paper it looks great when a team gets 2 or 3 players that were highly rated out of HS but didn't pan out at a P5 school. A few of those worked out well at Western so I'm not down playing that.

But I think with heavy recruiting from the portal a lot of high school players that end up turning into very good football players will be going to the FCS. So there is benefits of getting kids that maybe stared on their FCS school because they have that in game experience. Western went that route for 2 starting qbs that worked out fairly well. I believe the FCS is going to a place where G5s get a lot of starting talent.

Not many G5s are going to compete with the P5s when it comes to NIL deals or the star stuck of playing in the Big 10 or SEC. The same can be said for those star players that want to move up to the FBS and the G5 can out pay most if not all fcs NIL deals. As I said a lot of high school talent is going to be passed over by FBS schools because you get college ready players from the portal. G5 coaches are starting to think that HS player is going to take a couple years to play....

most will hit the portal by then

I agree 100% The portal has change recruiting at the P5 and G5 level.

Any G5 conference has shot at an NY6 bowl with the portal. I really think none of the G5 conferences have perceived advantage now that the best and dominant teams have left the AAC for the Big 12.

Enjoy! 03-lmfao

“Im surprised we lost him to LA Tech. We're in a much stronger conference and perhaps even better facilities

Yeah its official now ESPN finally reported that he is going to LA Tech. Will see if we get another transfer option at qb. I am sure someone will pop up on the radar.

Well very disappointed in his judgement then anyway.

Let's see;

FAU a better team,
Herman a better Coach,
AAC and better Conference,
Boca WAY better than Ruston. La!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck in the boonies and swamps”

Yes good luck in the swamps!03-lmfao Moron

I think that is just a Herman cover-up. I only say that because the stories breaking regarding where he was headed and that Herman found his guy was when he was added to classes last week before the last add date. Those searches is how most of the "transfer portal accounts" get their information to break stories. This is a move typically done by a school to ensure that if a guy commits they can get him into class and eligible for spring. I'm sure Herman will find his guy, just glad Cumbie was able to get Hank to Ruston. While I can certainly understand the appeal of Boca v Ruston, but for a kid with a longtime gf, who wants to consume himself with football, and who loves horses... Ruston certainly is a better fit.

These guys miss on guys in recruiting a ton. Don't see why he'd feel the need to cover it up. The majority of the offers for Hank were fcs schools. It isn't like fbs schools were beating down his door

Sometimes guys visit and aren't offered.

Herman got the central Michigan QB Daniel Richardson but yeah I'm guessing he will look for competition

Who cares? The bottom line is that Bachmeier will be slinging it for LA Tech next Fall. He will be very fun to watch.

This will be his second year in a row coming to EP to play the Miners. I hope his 2nd trip ends the same as his 1st. But overall he's a very good qb.

Which part? Knowing how most of the "transfer portal" and "D1 transfer" accounts operate I can tell you the stories and news was breaking Monday and Tuesday after the database for classes was updated. I also know semester schools quite often will enroll transfers into classes before the last date so that is not a determining factor. Conversations with one of the accounts said they were able to verify William Henry Bachmeir was enrolled on Friday the 13th into classes at FAU and that he was showing in their system on the 16/17th. Could he have enrolled himself? Absolutely. I just know based on what I have seen in recruiting that the more likely explanation for it was that FAU enrolled 247's #3 ranked transfer QB in classes so they weren't out of the running after the last day to add classes.

Or were you referring to him wanting to go to Ruston based on it fitting his wants/needs more than Boca? That can be a fair argument, though I'm sure most Tech fans will point to him wanting to play in the NFL, and Tech being one of the top G5's to produce NFL talent the past decade. A Tech fan will probably also point out that with 4 starters in the NFL conference championship games this coming up weekend Tech is the top G5 and the top school in La in that category.

After the past two seasons I think any looking down on Tech is certainly warranted. Hopefully with the on paper success of the coaches in recruiting HS and transfers this season will find Tech not trying to put square pegs in round holes schematically across the board.
