Arizona and Arizona State as a pair to the Big 10 which would move Arizona State's hockey program to the Big 10.
Utah for the Salt Lake City market.
Colorado for the Denver tv market.
Kansas for the KC market.
TCU for the Dallas tv market and a lot of alumni there.
Tulane for the New Orleans tv market.
Rice for the Houston tv market.
Vanderbilt for the Nashville tv market.
FSU for northern Florida tv market.
Miami for the Miami and southern Florida tv market.
Georgia Tech for the Atlanta tv market.
UNC for the North Carolina market.
Virginia for the Virginia market.
Pittsburgh for the Pittsburgh tv market.
Syracuse for the upper west NY market. Yes, their academics is up there even if they left the AAU.
Navy for the national and Baltimore market.
Army same for national market.
Norte Dame for the Indiana market.
Tulane and Rice were former p conference schools.
Could they look at other schools like UConn, UMass, and the likes even Stony Brook and Buffalo not for the basketball, but for the media for other sports like hockey, baseball, LAX and the likes to help for a potential break away from the NCAA?
Didn't you yourself say that Kansas can't make claim to the Kansas City market?
Second, and more importantly, what are your sources? And don't say it's some obscure guy on YouTube. I want legit sources like Pete Thamel and Brett McMurphy.
The Kansas City that matters is in Missouri. So it would not be a "Market" that Kansas brings. This list is another example of throwing **** against the wall. Schools located in new states bring the entire state for cable carriage fees and only that state. For instance Colorado doesn't bring the Denver market, it brings the entire state. Rutgers did not bring the NYC or Philly market, it brought the NJ cable market which happens to make up 1/3 of the NYC and Philly DMAs. The reverse is true as well, the second school in a given state does not increase cable fees, it dilutes them. So there is less incentive to bring in a second school from a state, unless it can bring big rivalries to drive viewership or big streaming audiences with it.
Actually, several sports media pundits have said that Kansas DOES in fact carry the Kansas City market. I was just pointing out DavidSt's hypocrisy. This is also the same DavidSt that has repeatedly said that Boise State's market somehow covers the eastern half of Oregon as well as the easternmost parts of Washington State.
KC is about 3/4 in Missouri and 1/4 in Kansas. So, kinda both, but Kansas City, Kansas is kinda like TCU for DFW in that they really only carry Ft Worth rather than the entire metroplex.

There really is no "TV market" for these schools as all their games are streamed or on cable. TCU is a fine football program but no better than the 4th or 5th story on local sports behind the Cowboys, Texas, Texas A&M and occasionally Texas Tech,
Rice, even less.
Allen High School has more kids with undergraduate college credits than Rice does. Rice doesn't even bring Rice Village.

Those are actually two cities.
