The three schools with the biggest loss are CMU 11,359 EMU 9,429, and WMU 6,459. GVSU lost 1,929 in that time frame. Nothing to be proud of, but have managed to do better than our two main rivals. During this period the student enrollment at all schools dropped a net of 43,106. Only MTU (95), MSU (680) and U of M (7,515) saw increases in enrollment. We may place too much blame on management and not enough credit for minimizing the loss to some degree in a challenging market.

People here have axes to grind, and this reasonable post doesn't help them do that.

You are comparing only two Michigan universities because we are in the same conference? I happen to believe we are a much better university all around than Eastern or Central. Plus, we had an application bump due to the Cotton Bowl exposure.

Unfortunately, it's pretty apparent to me there are far more people with an axes to grind with this administration other than the people only focused on the rebrand. A vote of no confidence from your faculty is pretty harsh criticism.

AllBronco -- You bring very valid points. I never meant this to be a discussion in terms of academics qualifications. I'm very much a proponent of our colleges and programs.
