Cscott is more fun, but it takes a while to get him wound up, its a a big space and mostly empty, but the rent is free in his head. Yankee and TripleA are more fun but they rarely come out to play with me anymore so its a lot more work to get them going. Probably just tougher skin if I had to guess.

Now CScott and msu, they can find an insult in any comment, whether a slight or a compliment. If you're just patient and comment consistently, even the most vague Memphis affiliated remark will have them rushing to set you right up.

Its fish in a barrel but hey that can still be fun.

Hey, that was my line!

How old are you? Trying to claim a common phrase popular for at least a century as your own? I wasn't joking about your "pick me girl" attitude and clearly you aren't either.

Also you're so far out of touch you haven't seen the modification of the testing standard that occurred in the early 2000s. Let me guess you still favor standardized testing despite the modifications made since the 1990s? Those reforms were caused because the academic world has long known the entrance exams are useless and all a dog and pony show. The test givers like their cushy jobs and so they have tried to hold on.

You're something else. No kidding it isn't my phrase, it's obvious to anyone that I was joking. Learn to relax and lighten up. As far as college entrance exams go, they're clearly still the best way to measure level of education.

RE: Who should the AAC Add for BB?
(10-27-2023 08:29 AM)TrackSuitAndTie Wrote:  When you think about it, there's a bit of a prisoner's dilemma at play here for the top A10 schools.

Sure, the top of the A10 and AAC are comparable (although the middle and bottom of the AAC is stronger), but if one of VCU, Dayton, or SLU leave, where does that leave the remaining programs? If Aresco says: "I have one spot for whichever of you three schools wants it" you have to figure there's some concern about getting left behind in a conference filled with schools who can't maintain consistent basketball success.

The promise of the AAC is that at least all of our schools are committed to investing the necessary funds to be competitive (except maybe UTSA basketball). I don't think a chunk of the A10 schools can say the same.

The fallacy is that anyone really wants to stay in "this" A-10. Everyone would jump in a second to the Big East. Temple and Charlotte headed out of the A-10 because it needed to consolidate their programs for football purposes. Xavier was out the minute Big East asked. This is the not the same A-10 from 2010 or whenever, it has dissolved into a one or two bid league, while at the same time the Big East is garnering 5-6 bids a year.

Aresco has money at his disposal and much better exposure. So the AAC is a viable option if you are not getting into the Big East. Both the A-10 and Big East are up for new media deals, so there will likely be movement. Gonzaga has been brought up numerous times nationally, so there is likely movement there as well. Outside of the PAC2-MWC resolution, the non FB school situation is the #2 biggest item in conference re-alignment now and the A-10 is likely to be for worse when it is all said and done.

Don't disregard George Mason in all this. DC market, bigger school than VCU, also public and a bigger arena. They have no shot of getting into the Big East because of Georgetown, so they would jump to the AAC in a second and be happy to host Temple, Memphis and Charlotte. The A-10 schools will wait until the Big East gets their deal and decides about expansion (why sit at 11 schools, when if you added 1 school you would have more inventory for a bigger tv contract?) and also decides their new media deal (previous one prioritized exposure over $$).
