If you HAD to: Which rival would you keep, which would you drop?
FSU - Keep Miami, they are the longest running FSU rival. Drop UF, vial creatures.

And this is where the circle of rivalries gets complicated, because while I did always enjoy the battle for the Keg of Nails, I certainly wouldn't bring it back at the expense of our annual battle for the Governor's Cup with Kentucky...who in turn may actually want to get out of it due to increasing demands of the SEC schedule.
On the EKU side of my fandom, in 2024 I don't have to pick because for one year we're renewing both of our traditional but dormant instate rivalry games with WKU and Morehead State.

The ACC’s 8-game conference schedule could accommodate playing both UC and UK—toss in a pair or rent-a-victims, and you’re all set. Louisville is kind of out on an island in the ACC. I think it would be good for you to have another regional and historic rival on a permanent basis.

I have a long memory about everything.
80 straight years, I think so.
Should it be for 100, 150, 500 ? Would that not be enough either? Is it somehow a perpetual, unwritten, unsigned obligation until the sun goes supernova?
Mostly what ND gets from the Navy games are banged up knees and criticism from other fanbases for playing them every year.
(the ole' "Military Academy" jibes)
Perhaps Texas AM should begin playing Navy every year forever due to their mutual military backgrounds ??
P.S. Other than USC, what other "rival" does ND play annually that should be jettisoned in this hypothetical instead of Navy?
Stanford? Okay by me, Stanford is just a means to an end (finish every season in California) and it is not on any ND future schedules after next year, anyway.

As an ND fan, I thoroughly enjoy the Navy games because of the history. From a competitive standpoint, and with where college football is heading, there isn't a financial or competitive advantage to keep the game annually (perhaps every few years, with playing one of AF/Army/Navy). Outside the Weis years, the games aren't competitive. Normally, you're just hoping for no injuries and that no one gets banged up.
I could also be sold on cutting Stanford and replacing with UCLA. I would like for Michigan to be on the schedule every few years, but not annually. I think ND schedules exceptionally well. Very few complaints.

There wouldn't even be a Notre Dame if the Navy hadn't rescued you guys in WW2. A&M owes everything to the State of Texas, and to the Morrill Act, which required that all students participate in Military training. We just took longer to diversify our enrollment criteria than most other Morrill Act schools.
I would be very happy to play Navy every year, or perhaps start up a rotation of all 3 Academies. If we owed a "debt of honor" to one or all of the Academies, you can be sure that we wouldn't consider dropping them once it was inconvenient to play them anymore.
The ND-Navy History is unique in the annals of College Sports, so I find it very interesting, but if you guys don't care about it, then perhaps I'm putting more weight on it than it deserves.
