He doesn’t get enough credit for just keeping the program competitive. I really thought it would take 3 to 4 years to overcome that. There are soo many ripple effects from missing an entire season of football. I’d expect the team to take another step forward if they can get some good players in the portal.

I think his conservative style is because he knows a lot of times the team they are playing against may have more talent. Don’t beat yourself, allow the other team to make the mistakes. This was especially the case two years ago I thought. He knew the offense wasn’t good do you saw a lot of run run pass type play calling. Shorten the game… hang around type philosophy. First year of a new offense was a big step in the right direction. Next year maybe 7-5 with a couple more convincing wins would be another nice step.

IF he knows the talent is inferior, he needs to make it vocal to the AD and admin and BOV. And, maybe even the big donors. And that is something I can truly believe. We have inferior talent to other teams. And in Rahnes defense, I do not believe he is given the resources necessary to be able to recruit at this level.

Does no good to just complain. He’s got to make the best out of what he’s got. At the end if the day he can only control but so much. His job is to win ball games with whoever he has. He’s probably maximized both of the last two years in all honesty. At the end of the day he’s grateful for the opportunity to coach the team.

RE: Fire Rahne
I had the pleasure of visiting 2 other G5 campuses over the holiday. I wonder if our recruiting struggles are for some of the same reasons as our student recruitment struggles. Meaning campus and facilities. The 2 peers I visited surprised me by how much nicer they were in terms of campus beauty, facilities and architecture.

If our fans want to build a winner, the coach needs to provide input and feedback. Our recruiting clearly has not been good, even dating back to BW. We are still near the bottom of the recruiting rankings in our conference. That should NOT be the case. Something is up with our program and the state of our recruiting. And the coaches and fans need to get to the bottom of it.
