I get the impression the plan is to institute the style of play that Earl wants to showcase, rather than taylor style to the carryover talent on the squad. Some of those transfers might be better equipped for the new style even if the talent level is not exceptional.

This might be an important step in recruiting better athletes in the future who the style we want to play and say “Hey, that works for me!”.
