Yeah you are right, I had forgotten that the east river bridges have no tolls. Been too long since I lived up there so I can plead old age!!!

Hope everyone who is going has a great time. Will be watching from the younger daughters place in LA on Saturday.

Go Dukes!!

To the above point of route, tolls, traffice, time, etc, Google tells me yo go 81 to 78 and come in from the north. Pike, is that good advice or did I just hear come from the south and 278? We're definitely coming up 81/78 via Harrisburg due to a family stop with late Friday afternoon arrival.

Are you coming from Harrisonburg? Or Northern Virginia/Richmond?

If it's Harrisonburg, then definitely 81 to 78. Once you get about 10-20 miles from the City, the trick is going to be deciding between:
1) Taking the Holland Tunnel, running across Canal Street then jumping on the Manhattan Bridge to Brooklyn
2) Getting off 78, taking NJ Turnpike a few Miles South and then going Goethals Bridge to Staten Island Expressway to Verrazzano Bridge to BQE (278) to Barclays. Option 2 is more miles and one extra toll (like $6 if you have EZPASS), but could be worth it if there's like a 60-120 minute delay to get into the Holland Tunnel.

My best advice is to ask your GPS which route is better right before you have to make that decision. It's no use asking the GPS an hour or two prior because traffic conditions change so fast. What day are you traveling? Honestly if you want to DM me I can give you my cell phone number if you need help.

If you're coming from Northern/Virginia or Richmond, etc, then your better bet is 95 to NJ turnpike to Staten Island to Verrazzano to BQE (278 East)

Hope that made sense. Let me know if I can help with anything else

Hope any/all beer loving Dukes find their way to the OG Other Half brewery in Brooklyn. Truly one of the best on the East coast.

We’re shopping for tix now. What section(s) are JMU people in?

Coming from Jersey City, so PATH train to WTC and then 2/3 or 4/5 to Barclays is easy peasy.

any feedback on how the jmu ny alumni pregame event was at Black Forest Brooklyn? From the pictures the venue looked fairly small but was full of Dukes. About a 20 min walk/5 min Uber to the arena.

It was pretty packed and small. Would say it’s like 15 minutes most walk to arena.

I would show up, grab a drink and leave. Way too many people and the venue isn’t really set up for it unless you want to wait a long time and have to walk over people to get anywhere.

Thanks for the feedback. Just landed was thinking couple hours of sleep before heading to Brooklyn but now I’m thinking vodka + soda + splash oj over some breakfast meats and then keep on going.

Got a crew of 7 sitting in section 1. Go Dukes!
