We have been to Toronto before, it was summer though and I agree Toronto is great city to visit but it is NOT an attractive destination for most floridians in the winter. There is a reason Miami Beach is full of canadian tourists at this time of year.

Yes, i've been to Toronto too, and it was great - a vibrant big international city with lots to do. And, as it was July, the 75 degree temperature was quite a relief compared to the 95-degree heat i was suffering in Baton Rouge.

But as you note, winter is quite the opposite situation.

Yes, and I'm pretty sure that it isn't because of the family atmosphere of the beach. That is my point... the family excuse is not the reason for not going to Toronto.

RE: Papa Johns update
Toronto is a wonderful city. But it's a terrible destination for the bowl game, particularly when the opponent is from the MAC.

The Big East needs to make a push to have a bowl game certified in Indianapolis, plus we need to put a full-court press on the Music City Bowl the next negotiating period. Two years ago, BC traveled 2,000 fans to the game. This year only 4,000 Clemson fans bought tickets. The Music City is an easy drive for 1/2 of the Big East (Louisville, Pitt, UC, West Virginia), and folks from South Florida, UCONN, and Rutgers can also get there by car. I wonder how hard we went after the Music City Bowl this go round.

You said Waco.
Toronto is a great city but in the winter vs a MAC team is NOT an attractive destination.
Heck I could tell you that El Paso was not a great destination but playing a`PacTen team was way more attractive from the football side

I have 1 kid with a 2nd on the way (hence the reason why I got vetoed out of going to the Sugar Bowl). I understand that your family does not want to go to Toronto, but don't say that there is nothing to do in Toronto... that is all I've said. I'm not sure why you are arguing it. I fully understand your family not wanting to go to Toronto when you live in Miami.

So maybe I should had been clearer, there is nothing in Toronto at this time of the year that would want to make my family excited about leaving Miami for it.

Congrats on the 2nd kid. I hope you are putting on weight for the pregnancy as I see you look thin in you avatar.

The BE needs to make a major push for the EagleBank Bowl in DC. That would be a great location for a BE bowl. ECU is has about 10,000 going to Memphis again this year. Not bad for crossing two long states. As fans we were wanting to go to DC because of the easier drive but wanting to win the conference again we knew we would have to go back to Memphis.

I'm about to head there as well. My plans for the Sugar Bowl fell through (gotta love reliable people) but since I have an apartment in DC along with my main one in Cincinnati (I'm in the middle of a transition to start a new job/graduate from college) I decided, what the heck, it's not exactly an expensive trip, and UCLA-Temple could be fun. Gotta love dirt cheap ticket prices too, though I wish the game wasn't at RFK.
