I don't get Vandy at 38. Seems a bit high for me.

RE: Paul Myerberg's Countdown (Now with USA Today)
These are a great resource to have online. I'll always prefer the old fashioned Phil Steele mag...but these and Connelly's "10 things to know" are awesome. I just don't think Connelly will get to all 130 teams like Myerberg is doing.

Big beef I had with PSU's write-up. Totally illogical point on our QB situation. After spring, Steven Bench was told he'd be 3rd string in August, meaning that he lost out in spring to Ferguson and that #1 recruit Hackenberg would get top reps with Ferguson.

Myerberg said that he believed Bench would have been PSU's starter this fall if he hadn't transferred.

Um. In what world does a #1 QB leave a major program (and he stuck with PSU after sanctions last fall...FWIW) without the coach kicking him out (like RichRod did with Mallett)?

Our QB situation is NOT good. We have a true sophomore (JUCO transfer) and a true freshman...but his analysis there just stumped me.

"This program has three fewer wins since 2010 as it had from during a decade-long span from 1996-2005."

Baylor

28-84 during 1996-2005, 25-14 last three years.

Marshall ahead of UCF. It must be because they do not have to lose to UCF a seventh time in a row (jk). Good luck this season.

Your are correct sir!

I think the MW average needs to be update with 10 teams. I think it should be 84.4 for the average.

Mountain West (2 of 12) Fresno State, Boise State
Sun Belt (0 of 8)
FBS Independents (1 of 6) Notre Dame
C-USA (0 of 14)

Chappy. You missed a team on the MW average. There are 11 teams now ranked for the MW.

25,48,59,67,70,76,90,105,107,108,114

869/11 = 79.0

Very likely, only 1 of the 3 computers I regularly use has my spreadsheet I'm tracking this on... I'll figure out the mix-up next time I'm at that machine.

#16 is Louisville. Myerberg has them much lower than the poll voters do. He has also given some "name" programs much higher rankings than the poll voters, so (depending on your point of view) he's either thinking outside the box or he is overly swayed by big names and/or recent past history.

He s till hasn't ranked Boise State which at this point he'll have them much much higher than Coaches or AP. Next available rank is #10 which seems too high for them IMO.

* 2014 FBS newcomer ODU was given a ranking of 126. 2015 FBS newcomers Appalachian State, Charlotte & Georgia Southern were each given a ranking of 128.

Notre Dame 2015 section needs an updating and Texas was 12, Nebraska is 11 and Clemson is 10 so those can be factored. Really appreciate you doing this and sharing with the Board.

#10 Clemson

Up next should be #9 Georgia based on the Myerberg clue

then I think

Boise will most likely be #8

followed by

#7 Florida State

#6 South Carolina

#5 Texas AM

#4 Stanford

#3 Oregon

#2 Ohio State

#1 Alabama
