Also, ESPN's Andy Katz has talked about Vince Hunter on his blog, if you haven't seen it, here it is:
Video link
The reason we know Washburn is a great defender is because we have seen him single handedly take players out of a game and eliminate them completely. That's not hype, we've seen him do it since he was a freshman. We have seen with our own eyes, the atheltic plays he's made on defense in the past and we've seen him guard other high scorers and hold them to single digits. Was UTEP able to contain Richmond last night? Not at all, but we didn't have to.
To say Bohannon is the ONLY reason our defense is good is silly. Washburn is plays 36 minutes a game and our opponents are shooting 38%. And yes Bohnnanon plays an important role as well with his height and length. Having both these guys on the floor, combined with our other lanky players is the reason we have one of the best defenses in the conference.
Didn't you see the stat? It's not just Bo, Lang is a better defender than Washburn too. ROFL
I'm more concerned with Lang than anyone else relative to our team....he's a beast....he reminds me of the Russian in Rocky-whatever it was
we got dominated last year by the monstrous cretin at nmsu.....he is going to be an issue for us.....even though there is a lack of depth coming from your bench, you guys have players coupled with them being well coached.
Not knocking Lang. He is a humble, utility guy that provides solid effort every game. Just poking fun and somebody's end-all-be-all stat.
I knew that....just really scared how Timmy is going unleash wrath.....
he's still pissed about Hammond stomping on him regarding the lashay page transfer issue....and it's a homecoming for him...
I'm going to come with a dollar bet contribution against us.....vegas should set this one no higher than USM -2

It was NAIA and like 7 years ago, and yeah they did have transfers from places like Georgia Tech who were in the rotation there. Bohannan is your best player for several years now, drives you defense and the one that beat us but you people are to stupid to ever give him the credit or respect he deserves. Much like the ECU gumps that constantly dog Richmond for crap they think they see a couple times a game or whatever.
How long ago was the D Wade win?

I hope you're right stink. USM has wanted it more the last 2 times...but that was before the new lineup. Here's to hoping our teams win out except when they play each other.

Now that's a fan! I think we Miners need to start up a collection to relocate you to El Paso so you can come over from the dark side and join us. You'd fit right in.

Richmond has been the model of consistency for a leading scorer. In 23 games he averages 18.3 points on 58% eFG%, higher efficiency than some of the best scorers ever in Jordan, Curry, and Durant in college, and has scored under 13 points just 3 times. Even those were still respectable games of 9, 10 and 12 point.
The two best scorers in college in recent years I can remember Durant and Curry got way more shots per game (18.5/20 shots compared to 13 a game for Richmond) and each had 2 or 3 games under that 13 points as well their last or only year and were much farther off their average. Curry even had a zero point game in 32 minutes where he completely disappeared. The guy has consistently given us effective offense and he would any team, more so with help.
Your obsession with this PER stat is hilarious. Richmond is an excellent shooter but gs_pirate was spot-on with his post. Nothing you've posted about PER, Curry, Durant or Jordan is a retort to his post. It makes you look like a baffoon to even put Richmond in the same paragraph as those guys.

I used to be part of the original rowdy rail back in the early 80's....'sit down coach' was what we said before the game.
Now I'm old and gray, sit in the chair backs, and get looks when I bust out with emotion..... the volcanic passion is still there....sat behind our pep band during the NIT games last year.....they were cracking the fk up loviin' and laughing with and old fkr
It just fun in my book. I love to see passion at the Yurt and the Rock.....just the way it is.....always will be.
....and the battle on the 22nd is gonna be a fight to remember if both teams play to their potential.
PTNC....love ya bro, and sorry for straying but I was on topic during the game and since our UTEP game is down the road w/o an existing thread, it seemed appropriate to start some smack attack with the Miners....can't help what sj does..... stay cool.....
edit: y'all better prepare Timmy for a lashay page rant festival from me.....he's gonna be steamin' willie beamin'

I don't see why we are talking about thread derailment. Yes, there were a few posts directed to some individuals but the majority of the content was about the game or the players. If we can't have fun or tease each other once in a while, what is the point? The tv and radio already have a play by play, is that what we are trying to replicate with game threads? I apologize to the OP and anyone else that took offense.
