CAA and Other MBB Games of Interest
What happened to dropping it...time to move on and all? Ha ha

I wish all of them the best. Young men who wanted something else. Oooooh, shame on them! Good grief.

CAA continues strong start, going 3-0, with Charleston, Delaware and Hofstra getting W's.

Wofford with an easy win over High Point, 89-61.

The Wm&Mary Stanford game has got to be a target for Coach D. I expect a blowout in Norman. B12/CAA etc. No contest. But not so in P/A. Don’t be shocked with a coming out party.

American with the nice crosstown win at GW, 67-65.

Oklahoma game at Oregon St at 11pm on ESPN2, for those who can stay up and get a preview. Think we have a solid chance at getting at least one win on the roadtrip west. Hampton first, though.

RE: CAA and Other MBB Games of Interest
Oklahoma beat Oregon St, 77-69, to remain undefeated. They don't play again until our matchup Monday night, so, a lot of prep time and maybe rust time.

American win for us looking even better with them taking down GW. Very solid early season result.

RE: CAA and Other MBB Games of Interest
Hofstra getting curb stomped by Bucknell. Down 17 with a little over 2 minutes left

Bucknell shooting 46% from the field (54% from 3) with 15 3's
Also out rebounding Hofstra 47-33

Final Score 86-71 Bucknell
Hofstra drops to 1-2 on the season

Hofstra has no size, no depth, no defense, and no JWF. Crazy to have been picked to win the conference. I've watched all CAA teams and Hofstra is not in the top half. Bucknell is not talented this year and they schooled Hofstra down the 2nd half stretch.

Would love to see Drexel and Charleston pick up wins tonight. Both would be good for the league.

That pick never made sense. JWF plus their big made that team work. Take both away and picked 1st? I thought top 4 would be a stretch for them this season. Top half looks questionable at this point.

Doesnt look good. Drexel went cold (27% shooting in 2nd half) and fell by 6. CofC down double digits halfway through the 2nd half

I know what you are saying ......but ............ the CAA is not going to pick up any at large bids (at least not this year, for sure). So, if true, then the worse all the other teams play then the more they lose and the more dejected they get and, hopefully, the easier it would be for W&M to excel in the league.

So I'll root for league teams against "the big boys" but, hey, if Shenandoah had beaten JMU then I wouldn't cry about the hit to the league's RPI.

Even if it's only a one bid league, upping the overall RPI helps the case for whoever gets the one bid. Could mean a 12 or 13 seed instead of a 15 seed.

So who are you considering the big boys? Rutgers and Oklahoma State are in major conferences, are they not considered big boys? Or by big boys are you talking only the handful of blue bloods?

I knew someone would say that. 03-thumbsup In my opinion, the CAA is going to get shafted on its seed regardless (that is, it will never be as high as it should be). So, knowing that, I think the benefit to W&M stands to be greater under the "be the best team in a bad league" scenario.

I knew someone would say that, too. 03-thumbsup I didn't mention either of those two teams in my post because, yes, you are correct that they are in P5 conferences ---- but neither of them is historically good enough to count as a "big boy" (blue blood, as you called them). So, while I certainly would have had a small degree of "feel good" if Drexel had beaten Rutgers or if CofC had beaten Ok. St., my degree of "feel bad" about them losing is also very small.
