RE: CAA and Other MBB Games of Interest
Towson at #15 Florida tonight. 7pm, ESPN2.
Towson is pretty solid, athletic, fast, and push the ball. They will be much better if/when Fobbs quits trying to do too much on his own and lets the game come to him within the framework of a pretty good surrounding cast. Towson has the goods to compete for the CAA championship this year, especially once Uyaelunmo and Timberlake are back from injury. Really a shame that they grabbed the Charleston Classic CAA slot this year, and not us. Two other Tribe opponents, St. Joe's and Buffalo, are, also, in the Charleston Classic.

Towson is giving Florida more than they can handle. Game tied at half, 30 all.

How to beat Towson? Let Fobbs beat them for you. Towson's last three possessions were a Fobbs' charge and two Fobbs' way out of range, three point shots. Ballgame, Florida wins, 66-60.

Great showing for Towson. They came in as 17 point dogs. Unfortunately, moral victories don't count in the win loss column

A very talented, well coached Towson team that seems to be continuing their routine from last season of not being able to win close games. They should have beaten Kent State in their prior game.

Not a good day for the CAA: 4 losses out 5 games. Losses to ODU, GMU, Davidson and Stephen F Austin.

I think the league came down to earth a little bit today.

Agreed, and Oklahoma is better than all 4 of those teams

Undefeated Butler beat Wofford, 80-61.

American lost at St. Francis, 79-76.

Buffalo beat Harvard, 88-76, and only have one game (UConn) before our matchup with them in two weeks.

A noteworthy night for the CAA coming up Thursday, with our game at Stanford, Hofstra at UCLA, and Towson playing #21 Xavier in the Charleston Classic.

Treating Holy Cross like a D3 team.

Nice 4-0 night for the conference

JMU almost blows another late big lead tonight at ODU, but a made ODU three point shot at the buzzer was ruled after the buzzer, and JMU wins, 80-78.

Elon up 33-32 @ halftime. Maybe Holmes has some inside scouting help!

UNC is pulling ahead easily in the second half, and now lead by double digits.

RE: CAA and Other MBB Games of Interest
ODU loss at home was very painful for them and their fans: they all believed final three point shot had beaten the buzzer and they had won. Mad celebration followed while, with nobody noticing, the refs reviewed the final shot.

After their wild celebration ODU finds out the shot had not left the shooter's hand and they had lost. Made it all the more galling.

JMU, by the way, lost a 13 point lead with five minutes to go and a seven point lead in the final minute: turnovers and a series of horrible missed foul shots.

For those interested, WVEC-13 has video of the last-second shot here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n64hgAm86Bw

It's not a great angle, but if you pause it at the 1:22 mark (and particularly if you wiggle back and forth a little bit within that one second of time) you can see it was the right call. The ball is clearly still in the shooter's hands with the red lights on the backboard visible behind him.
