It's like Johhny Edwards in reverse. Except Johnny has been persona non grata while the GOP has put her on the national ticket!

No way she comes out of this if she's the grandmother.

Does the concept of deductive logic ever enter your mind?

Let's see, Edwards cheats on his cancer stricken wife and fathers (supposedly) a child with said mistress.

Palin (supposedly) claims motherhood of a special needs child to protect her teenage daughter.

Yeah. The situations are EXACTLY the same. 01-wingedeagle

Saw a reporter asks a McCain campaign person if Palin would have less of an ability to care for her child being VP.

Anyone want to bet if that question was ever posed to Obama?

LOL, seems exactly the same to me. I'm having trouble finding differences.

Supposedly from a web site I just read. They were planning on giving the baby up for adoption. The adoption fell through when the adopted parents found out about the genetic disorder. That's when they announced the 7 mo. pregnancy.

Really a tragedy

I've been watching Fox news all day and there has been no mention of this at all. The only thing they're talking about is the hurricane. Has anyone noticed how the LA governor and NO mayor are taking more responsibility than they did with Katrina?

Obama doesn't have an special needs infant either, so what's your point?

Foxnews would be the last one to drop this bombshell. If Palin was a D yeah you'd be looking at the right news channel.

Ninerfan1 Wrote:And take note libs, this is a win/win situation for Palin. The media jumps on it and it's true, it shows her as a protective mother willing to take on raising a special needs grandchild. If it's not true, you've just attacked the mother of a special needs child and her teenage daughter. Keep it up.

I'm sorry, but covering up your teenage daughter's pregnancy and pretending it's your own and then exploiting that son to convey your own courage in living your pro-life stance is about as low as it gets. That is far from a win situation. Your blatantly biased spin on that scenario is laughable. It would have been more admirable if she had aired out that her daughter was pregnant, made her have the baby, and help take care of her daughter's special needs son.

Ninerfan1 Wrote:Flying back to have the baby in her hospital, with her doctor, who knows her birthplan and who's been with her through her pregnancy? Seems pretty normal to me.

How is her water breaking in Dallas and starting to feel slight contractions, then giving a speech, then flying from DFW to Anchorage (about a 10 hr flight with a stop in Seattle), then driving to Wasilla, AK normal? That's far from normal and flat out stupid. When you start going into labor you don't wait 12 hours before going to a hospital.

Exactly. Child birth is an emergency 911, get to the nearest hospital you can type of situation. Niner, are you saying this is the same approach you would condone for your newborn? I highly doubt that.

Put the pieces of the puzzle together. There are 5 or 6 pieces that should lead you to a conclusion. The biggest one being a 5 month excuse from school. I didn't know mono could make your boobs and belly grow. A while back at my school we had a girl who had a stomach tumor. She was out for three months. That darn tumor just kept growing so she went away to a specialist. She came back and she was fine. The stomach tumor was benign.

This is a despicable attack, just as claiming Obama's not a citizen of the US.

+1.

That's an awfully dumb game to play, especially being so far removed from the situation. You aren't making logical conclusions from these "puzzle pieces". You're just making assumptions off potentially circumstantial evidence. If the girl really did have mono, it's quite probable the girl didn't do much physically and she could have gained weight.

This is a strange situation, to be sure. One thing is that medical records are going to have to be disclosed. If nothing else, that should definitely have been discussed during even a minimal vetting process. I can't imagine picking her without having someone review the medical records. The release of those records should definitely clarify this. I doubt that she could go through a pregnancy diagnosis, particularly with a Downs syndrome child, without leaving tracks all over her medical record.

A friend of mine's sister had a child when she was in high school. Her mother adopted it. It would seem that if the story were true, it would have been a fairly easy thing to have handled it that way, and then there wouldn't be this issue, and it would still make just as powerful a statement on the pro-life issue. Adoption, not abortion, is to me the strongest argument the pro-lifers can make.

You don't gain weight from mono. You lose about twenty pounds. I had it my sophmore year and went from 190 to 170 in two weeks. You also wouldn't be out of school for 5 months.

You Dems please run with this. It's 100% false, but let's say it's true and she comes out, has a press conference, and explains everything. "I wanted to protect my daughter from slanderous innuendo from my political opponents".

Come on Mach, PLEASE run with this. I'm sure mothers all over the country will just hate her for wanting to protect her daughter.

So, don't sing it, bring it. 05-stirthepot
