If Texas deserved to go to the BCS, they would have beaten K-State in the B-12 championship last season... oops... they didn't get that chance did they?

Wait a minute, they can still beat Colorado... wait... no

soxfan1011 Wrote:Do you people actually think the BE is still a good football conference? What makes it good. It is a collection of mediocre to slightly above average teams. For most of these teams if they played in a conference like the ACC or SEC or Big 12 they would be lucky to finish any better than 7-4 or 6-5.
You won't be saying that next year. As much as it pains me to say, Louisville can play with any of the so-called elite teams, and they've proven it.

And many bowls are finding out maybe it would be better to be able to select a better team than a 6-5 6th or 7th place team from the Big Ten or SEC for example. There is a lot more parity in College Football than there was before the BCS.

Go back to the history of the BCS and see what happened this year with PITT happened many other years. Do you remember the year when a 8-3 or 7-4 FSU team went to BCS? Or how about unranked Stanford went to the Rose? There seem to be a team not ranked or ranked low going to BCS every year.

Face it, this is the system we all have to live with. You can ***** all you want, but at end of the day until BCS is gone this will happen. What will you say when Texas goes 7-4 and win the B12? Colorado has a chance to go to the BCS this year if they beat OU and you think they deserve it? Quit being a hypercrite an start writing letters to the BCS instead of ***** about the BE.

There is a good chance Texas will choke again at the bowl game because they no longer playing the in the weak ****** B12.

All this proves is BCS sucks. Texas does not deserve a bid more than Cal or University of Louisville. Texas plays in the weak ****** B12 but is telling everyone how great the conference is. If those BCS people have any sense, we will have a national playoff and settle this thing once and for all.

Texas is playing Michigan, another overrated team, in the Rose bowl. They should change the bowl game to "Overrated" bowl.

Face it, Cal got screwed.

If anyone got screwed in the BCS deal this year, it is certainly California. Texas needed miracles to get out of Kansas and Oklahoma State. Cal took care of business with everyone, but the 6-point loss to USC. Oh well, such is life in the BCS world.

Cal didn't get screwed by Texas. Cal got screwed by the system. They got screwed because a mediocre team like Pitt from a mediocre conference makes a BCS game. Pitt is easily the worst team to ever play in a BCS bowl game. They don't deserve to be there. The Big East doesn't deserve to have any team there this year. But with the way the system is set up that is what happens.

Easily? I believe 33rd ranked Stanford from a couple years back has Pitt beat.

So deal with it. :crying:

You are full of crap. Why does PITT not deserve it over a Michgan team? BCS set up the rules and BE followed the rules. If you dont like the system, go ***** at the BCS. Why do you ***** at the BE?

What happens if PITT wins the game against UTAH? or Texas got smoked by an overrated Michigan team? Or when CAL destroys Texas Tech? I get the feeling you will be no where to be found. I am sure your Texas team will do what it does best, lose in the big game.

Why dont your do some research before you *****? At least read the two threads below: History of BCS and why BE deserves a BCS bid.

Cal is way better team than Texas. I am sure if they meet on the field Cal would win.

Did K-State deserve squat last year? Did Stanford three years ago?

Don't hate the conference. Hate the system.

You have to be kidding me! The Big 10 has a team in with a 9-2 record also. Remember Oregon at #19 costing Penn state the crown in the Rose Bowl. Anyways, the Big East will be strong as any conference next year. Louisville would stomp most teams ranked above them as well as Pitt who has 85% of its offensive starters returning for the next two years.
Hate the game. The pack 10 sucked for years and no one cryed about the BCS. The Big east is one of the top three College sports (ALL) conferences

I just had to reply again as I noticed that knuckleheads (soxfan1101) cheers for Texas and I'm assuming the Redsox in Baseball. I would also be willing to bet that he is a"Diehard New England Patriot fan". HuH.. do we notice something here. I would also be willing to bet that most other BE fans like myself are loyal to their local teams (Ie Steelers, Panthers, Penguins and Pirates. )

As strong as any conference next year? That has to be a joke. They will have at most two top 25 teams. That certainly doesn't eqaute for a great conference. Just because you like the conference doesn't make it good.

And the system being bad isn't a reason Pittsburgh deserves to be there. That is just dumb logic.

By the way genius, I grew up in Boston and went to school at Texas, thus the reason for being a sox fan and a Texas fan. I'm sure I'm not the only person in the world that has ever gone out of state for college and stayed loyal to my college and the sports teams I grew up watching.

Too bad you're a Pittsburgh fan. If they don't win the SB this year, which they won't due to MY patriots it's going to be a long year in loser city.

2 top 25 teams out 8 is bad? You need to get a clue. I am pretty sure Big East will have 3 teams in the top 25 with WVA, PITT and UL. Thats almost half the league and that aren't so bad.

B12 on the other hand, how many crappy teams are there? The bottom half of the league is really sorry.
