I'd say all BE programs in 2013 are off limits and possibly consider market teams, but I am confused over the CUSA restrictions...

Pure guess on my part, but I would bet he doesn't want him around the programs we really need a few wins against in 2012. We may not play him, but he would still be involved in whatever team he joins immediately.

Scott and Taylor Reed have handled a tough situation with nothing but class and deserve to be treated as such. The kid stayed through Spring practice, competed for his own job and never complained.

competed for his own job and never complained

didnt complain?

except to people who post on this board that he was disatified and wanted to leave.

then he quit...which is what this is when you get beat out...

now he has his daddy crying to the newpapers over transfer restrictions (which are part of the system).

so no, i guess technically he didnt complain

he just ran home when things got tough

we arent a farm league for developing qb's for other fbs schools.

So..........Is Fuente also quitter since he left OU after a coaching change from Schnellenberger to Blake and transferred to Murray State?

Makes me go hmmmmmmmm.

Taylor Reed
COGS Did anybody ever consider that it may be because of his knowledge of the system being installed by Fuente ? Taylor was the QB and could give very detailed info to a new team. He should be under very heavy restrictions.

That's what my first thoughts were also. He's been studying the playbook and running the offensive schemes in spring. Don't really have a problem with the restrictions.

Fair point to both of you. I can see it a bit now...

with all respect tg4, just my opinion, i can understand the other side. you and i both remember the whole schnellenberger fiasco at OU. i think they are apples and oranges.

plus, i think reed is allowed to transfer to murray state if he wants 04-deal

The kid never played for Fuente and never signed up to play for him. His coach was fired. He should't be subject to the new coach's transfer rules. This is a bad decision by this coach. Fuente is looking very childish with this decision and this won't help him in recruiting.

He did sign up to play for Memphis and we haven't gone anywhere. So there's that.

Do what? Justin makes the rules. Players have to abide by the rules as written by the coach. He can go play anywhere he wants as long as his family wants to pay his tuition. If not, the kid has to go anywhere but where Justin decides.

The moral to the story is do not accept a free ride unless you are sure this is where you want to be. It looks to me like we are being used as a D-1 juco team. Go to memphis and play one year at QB and shoot out for greener grass. Sounds like FU is making an example and it just happens to be a snot nosed kid who has a big mouth daddy.

If his sophomore talent is being wasted so bad by hanging around then he is welcome to tranfer to Alabama, LSU, Texas, oregon, oklahoma, notre dame, usc, michigan, wisconsin, florida state, etc.

he can still go to miami, maybe ryan williams will save him a seat next to him on the pine.

he cant play for about 30 teams out of literally hundreds....cry me a river.

I don't know. Maybe I'm the only one who isn't bothered by the restrictions. We're already low on numbers. If you wanna leave, you're gonna have to pick a school that isn't high on your wish list.

Exactly but I think there are only about 120 FBS schools so I suppose he's down to 75-80% of those that he can transfer to.

Again, I don't think he's being asked to leave. I think he's leaving because he's not going to be the #1 qb next season.

For those of you with the "Playbook Theory", what is stopping him from sharing the playbook with CUSA and BEAST teams now anyway. In fact, I would say he's more motivated to do so now than if he had just been let go with BE restrictions only (which makes sense to everyone).

Whatever. Players sign committments to the school--- starters or not. Fuente has his reasons, he's the coach, good enough for e.

Maybe MTSU can pick him up.
