RE: Bigten/ACC to share tie-in's to gator bowl and music city bowl
Looking forward to you B1G fans coming to Nashville every once in a while! Should be easy travel for most of you. By the way, if you stay at Opryland Hotel (where the teams stay a few miles out of downtown), you should be able to work out a free shuttle to and from the airport/hotel/downtown. No need to rent a car if you don't want to. When on Broadway, hit up Jacks BBQ, Robert's Western World for live music, Paradise Park Trailer Resort for late night drinking/general rowdiness, and you're good to go!

For whatever reason, the AAC is being treated by bowls as a sub-CUSA start up venture. The guaranteed bowl line up for the AAC is shaping up to be worse than the MW by a long shot and probably slightly worse than CUSA (it will be similar to CUSA, except CUSA will have a better #1 bowl). The AAC will have to rely on back-up contracts with the lower power conference bowls for places to send thier best teams each year. That will allow the AAC to functionally have an acceptable bowl line up. Thats better than the alternative--a buffet of guaranteed tie-ins with low playing junk bowls against mid/low ranking non-AQ schools. To have any decent bowls at all in nice destinations against power conference schools, the AAC will effectively have to be gypsies with no traditional destinations.

I would look for the Big 12 to be in the Liberty Bowl.

Orange vs SEC/B1G/ND
Capital One vs SEC (in years when B1G is OB opponent)
Russell vs XII (likely)
Belk vs SEC (likely)
Gator/Music City vs SEC
Pinstripe vs B1G (likely)
And three others
The AAC is in toilet bowl trouble....

No doubt the AAC is staring a bowl lineup in the face that might not even exceed what C-USA currently has. Aresco continues to be all talk and zero results.

It may not be easy--but if CUSA is having success, then theres no reason we cant get something done. This is from the LaTech AD--
Bruce Van De Veldeā@LATechAD
Tremendous progress being made on bowl lineup for CUSA. Could have as many as 6 primary bowl agreement in place for 2013.
Keep in mind, CUSA has already locked up a New Years Day Bowl against the Big-10 for thier #1 bowl. Other than todays possible glimmer of hope on the Liberty Bowl---the bowl scramble thus far has not been kind to the AAC. Going into the last turn, it certainly looks as if CUSA and the MW have handled the bowl scramble far better than the AAC and may end up with superior bowl dance cards if the AAC cant close some deals soon.
