Intriguing matchup. Should be one of the better games.

At least it's the MAC champ, but 03-puke...

I agree with the poster above that Marshall should get the MAC championship trophy if we win.

The only part I hate is its a new bowl not a well known bowl, it's FAU stadium which is embarrassing(30,000 people?? Get Real), before Christmas, I'm sure the Payout is one of the lowest, the 4th MAC School. Like come on.

are you aware that bowl payouts don't really matter since they going into a pool and split with the rest of the conference?

He's also probably not aware that Marshall's stadium holds only ~9,000 more than FAU's stadium.

Our players always get distracted in south Florida, too many friends and family hanging around, not enough focus on the game.

I wanted to play Penn State in the HOD. Like getting shots at traditional big names.

Love this matchup! Champion vs champion like the Liberty Bowl used to be when it was CUSA vs MTN WEST champs. Anyone that thinks playing some 10th place Big 10 team is better then you're part of the problem in college football. Roy Kramer & Co. love your kind.

Me too. That's a match up I'll make a point in watching, and outside of the Sunbelt bowls and the playoffs I don't intend on watching any other games.

If you want to give up the CUSA championship trophy if you lose.

I remember one year we played Bowling Green, and there was a friendly wager between our Mayors that the loser would have to fly the others school flag outside of the city capital office.

Marshall lost that year, and I think we honored that bet.

There are rumors Marshall wants to renter the MAC. Playing more MAC schools than CUSA makes me believe it might be true.

Sorry couldn't help myself. Congrats on winning yesterday.

Im sure its not the game against a P5 that Marshall wanted but this will be a great game. Champion vs Champion, in a great location. Doc will be happy as Im sure every recruit and coach he knows will be in attendance. Great 1st game to showcase the Boca Raton Bowl.

This isn't like the Liberty Bowl, where the champ automatically goes to that particular bowl. BB can pretty much put teams where he wants.

Marshall can still pick HOD, but with how much they recruit Florida it makes a good matchup playing the MAC Champs

I haven't seen anything official that the champ decides anything. I feel like it is more of an assumption, but could be wrong.

It's right on the C-USA website

I don't doubt you, but I can't find it. I'm interested in what rules they actually do have concerning bowls.

Marshall vs. Northern Illinois will be a great ballgame. Watched the MAC Championship on the tube and Huskies creamed BGSU. They are no slouch. CONGRATULATIONS AND GOOD LUCK THUNDERING HERD!
