So let's assume that the Big 12 takes 2-4 teams from the AAC, who would be the candidates for replacement?

Lots of good options, just different +/- for each (geography, academics, on the field, TV marke, history, etc).

I'm assuming Cincy is #1 and are basically in.

Yeah, I think they try and bridge the gap with WVU and head east with two. If they want more than that then BYU and a bridge with CSU. I think the florida schools as well as UConn are too far away and I think they want new areas so that counts out Houston.

I doubt they are going to BOTH east and west. I think if they go east, they'll pick 4 from the east.

East and west gets them the most value. Big name in BYU and the state of Colorado back into the fold along with a bridge to WVU and two medium sized cities in brand new states. I don't see them doubling down on a state.

I would think NIU, UMass, S. Miss and Old D. Maybe Buffalo if they want to focus more on the east coast.

Must say I was wrong. Thought the Big 12 would stay put at 10. Looks as if now they will in fact expand. Assuming BYU is out, I go with Cincinnati and Colorado St. NIU should be the candidate to replace UC. I have always been high on Northern Illinois and think they would be a terrific add for the AAC

Now is probably too late to start. Does anybody really believe that the vetting and proposal process is just beginning? FOIA documents from the past year have uncovered ongoing correspondence/requests for info/proposals dating back to last year for some of the usual suspects.

I'm of the belief that they are further along in the process than they are admitting publicly (as was evidenced by the unanimous vote today). From their own due diligence and the consultant's findings, they should know by now what every candidate brings to the table. What's left except negotiating $?

There are 63 FBS schools interested in joining Big 12. Good luck getting ahold of Bob Bowlsby for next few months

If we get the list of schools interested, we could do a March Madness tournament to determine who gets in.

Arkansas Tech is the 64th team obvs.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! Hopefully the AAC reps agree with you

This - 2 or 4 and they will all come from the East imho.

What is the cut off date that the Big 12 has to announce the schools so that they can be in the Big 12 for the 2018 season?

This is what was getting me while listening to sports radio on the way home. These clowns were talking like "the next step" this and the "next step" that. Those steps were made months and even years ago.

Oklahoma fans that thought they could just walk out and walk to the SEC like it would be that easy...lol. I have to laugh at them.

I bet the B12 expands with 4 teams.

Which 4?

Also who backfills what?

Cinci is a lock, but who after that?

BYU? Houston? Memphis? U_F? UCONN? Boise? CSU?

The MAC probably goes with Illinois State as a replacement.

I agree with your 2. If it's 4, I think BYU and Houston.
