Folks that take this stuff so seriously that they would literally murder someone simply because of differing beliefs have no place in our society. Stuff like this starts small and builds, particularly at the individual level. Our society, as a whole, needs to take a step back and reexamine the path we are on because it only leads to tears. No matter the partisan divide, we are all in this together, and together we have to work things out. That is the only way foward because the other way leads to chaos. We are better than this and it's about damn time we started acting like it.
