Highly doubtful. He's turned down overtures from far better opportunities than North Carolina in the past, and is making more than Fedora already.

Ah, I thought they counted. I guess UNC could schedule Furman or The Citadel when Clemson isn’t playing them.

Might want to stick to playing Davidson.

Furman can beat you

And The Citadel beat South Carolina the year that y'all lost to the coots.

Given your recent record against South Carolina schools you might want to try playing NC Central, WCU and Elon instead.

Nah, that was almost 20 years ago during a disaster of a season. I think that was when Curry went down.

Butch Davis? Gene Chizik (Fedora's two best seasons)? Those are proven coaches and were great hires.

Welfare. Have the two Rich teams pay for the not very rich teams so the legislature doesn't have to.

Funny that Davis was never mentioned in any of the reports; his firing was a hair trigger reaction. Allegedly, the violations were occurring before he set foot on campus.

Chizik turned one the worst defenses into a top performing defense in just a season. I wish he would get the head coaching position.

IMO, Chizik would get UNC to 8-4, with an occasional 10-2 season. At this point, that would be a big improvement!

Sometimes a school needs to make a "rebuild/restock" kind of hire - like Mark Richt at Miami. He probably won't win any national championships there, but he will leave the roster well-stocked for the next guy.

At other times a school needs to fix a losing culture in one or more units.

Chizik would fix the defense (maybe not top 10, but MUCH better). Maybe that's what UNC should view as "step 1"?

Perhaps we have different definitions of the word top. The 2014 defense at UNC was ranked 120th. In one season Chizik took it to 96th. Hardly a "top performing defense" by anyone other than your definition evidently. Even his second and last defense wasn't "top performing" as it was ranked 63rd.

But maybe I'm just spoiled by having a DC that actually has put out a top performing defense in the country multiple years.
