Do you think that you would be undefeated against App?
You have taken 2 of 3 and last year when we really sucked you only won 14-3. Continue on world beater.
Charlotte fans, I know you guys get your feelings hurt about this. There's no debate, App St is a better football program. Right now.
With that said, Charlotte is a better fit for our conference. Original member, higher upside. Who knows what Charlotte will be in 5 years. I know what it will be this year, and I have a reasonable belief that you'll continue to struggle for the next few years. But your upside is undeniable.
you do understand that cusa also sponsors other sports and we kick app states ass historically in all of them?

I agree. CCU has much more upside. Marshall hit their ceiling long ago and even then, it wasn't very high.

Because CLT is an idiot. That’s been well established.

I get why you UAB look alikes would want Coastal. You’re not gonna have anyone to beat this year or beyond.
Good luck climbing out of that basement.
Wake me up when Charlotte has a top ten finish, Heisman finalists, multiple bowl wins, or even one top 25 finish.
Heck, even one winning season. I swear, Charlotte fans think we should all thank them for even being allowed in the same conference.

I would argue strongly that clt doesn't even rank in the list of "Top 50" idiots on this forum board.
I will also say that the "ceiling argument" aimed at the more established CUSA schools from most of the "newbie" schools in CUSA has grown tiresome and silly. It seems to be their only method of criticizing their more established brethren, who actually have real fan bases, long & distinguished football histories and positive brand recognition.

You do realize that football drives the realignment bus and as much as Marshall fans love basketball, we are a football first school.
I know it sucks for you all to hear it but I don't care. Our conference screwed the pooch by not inviting App State to this conference. They are a solid football program with a solid fan base, and we have a history with them.

You can say that all you want but we all know it isn't true lol..... I remember the off season thread about best brand in CUSA. No doubt we are the best brand in CUSA East.

RE: CUSA Lines in the Sand: WEEK 2
FAU over Air Force - Close game against a tough triple option team but FAU comes out motivated and finds a way to win. Wouldn’t be surprised by another loss with FAU still being one of the conferences best teams. Who ever put together FAU’s recent schedules is hopefully long gone.
Charlotte over App St. - App St. is a young team and now likely will be overconfident. Going out on a limb and picking Charlotte to win at home.
Marshall over EKU - EKU is not a bad FCS but this is a very good Marshall team. Should win easily.
MT over UTM - MT should win this one. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s close.
La Tech over Southern - La Tech may be the most talented team in the conference. Should win big over an overmatched Southern team.
Southern Miss over ULM - Expecting this to be close but a USM victory. ULM is underrated after week 1.
Baylor over UTSA - This may be close but Baylor seems to be much better this year than last.
UAB over Coastal Carolina - Coastal lost alot from last year and UAB apprars to be very good again. This should be a route but the game being at Conway should help Coastal’s confidence and keep it closer for a while.
UNT over Incarnate Word - Another team UNT should handle relatively easily. UNT needs to find a way to improve their OL play if they are to have the type of season many expect.
Maine over Western Kentucky - Maine is a solid to good FCS team facing an inexperienced but talented WKU team. I’m expecting an upset here but expect it to be close either way.
Old Dominion over FIU - I expect ODU to come back strong and beat FIU handily. FIU is very talented but young and will be very overconfident heading to this game against an underrated ODU team.
UNLV over UTEP - UNLV seems like a solid team this year while UTEP is still rebuilding. I’d be surprised if this one is close.
Hawaii over Rice - It’s always tough to travel so far to Hawaii and win especially against what appears to be one of the Rainbow Warriors’ better teams.
