So what exactly is there to be impressed with?
Ohio St at least has wins over Penn State and TCU. Notre Dame over Michigan and Stanford. Clemson has 1 good win- that's vs Texas A&M. That's it.
You mean 3-2 TCU who has exactly 0 good wins and may well be .500 before the weekend hits and a Penn State team inflated by a gaudy record with App State being their only decent win? That Ohio State? At this point our win over Georgia Southern is better than a win over TCU.
TCU with 2 losses to only Ohio St and Texas.
End of the day Ohio St has 2 opponents so far that will probably end of the year be in the top 25.... Can't say the same for Clemson at all whatsoever.....
Oh, and of those 18 wins you're talking about..... that includes
Northwestern State
South Carolina State
Alcorn State
Wagner
Towson
but only 4 p5 wins. Color me totally unimpressed. A whole bunch of dreck quite frankly.
Both by double digits and with absolutely no wins of consequence. As I said, it's very likely that TCU is 3-3 before the weekend begins.
Penn State's biggest wins are Appalachian State and a Pitt team that lost to UNC.

Sorry but Clemson's schedule isn't all that at all...
And 1 big thing. If they lose their next game to NC State- they are pretty much eliminated from playoff contention. NC State would have to lose 2 conference games- with Syracuse, FSU, WF, Louisville, and UNC left... Probably not going to happen...
What would be really interesting is NC State at 11-0. what sucks for them is their game with WVU getting cancelled due to Florence.

They have UT, OU and Ok. St. on the road, TCU at home and then, if they run the table, one of UT/OU or TCU in the ccg. If they run the table with that finish, they should be #1.
Over Alabama/Georgia? GTFO with that crap. They'd frankly be best case a 4 seed and get Alabama/Georgia in the 1st round of the playoffs.
Have you looked at the schedules? Georgia fans are wondering whether their weak schedule will hurt them in the end. Louisville, Arkansas St., Citadel and ULL aren't murderers row for Alabama. In fact, Arkansas St. may well be better than Arkansas and Tennessee this year, who are also on Alabama's schedule, along with Missouri. It isn't clear if Ole Miss and Mississippi St. are any good. So Alabama's season is Auburn, LSU, A&M and then probably UGA. Only LSU is on the road.
I said WVU should be #1 in that scenario and they absolutely should be. I didn't say that the committee would rate them #1. They go on the eyeball test and would put Alabama or UGA with a much weaker resume #1.
Right now, WVU has 2 ranked opponents- Oklahoma and Texas. Only 4 other opponents have a winning record right now....
Georgia has 4 ranked opponents, and only 2 opponents with a losing record.
Alabama has 4 ranked opponents as well. With 5 losing opponents.
So No. WVU will if there's 5 undefeated teams be LUCKY to be in the playoff. They aren't finishing ahead of Alabama/Georgia or Ohio St. Probably won't finish ahead of Clemson or Notre Dame.
TCU will be ranked. They played both Ohio St. and Texas even, but turned the ball over 7 times in those two games.

TCU still has some tough games left. Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Kansas St, Baylor, Oklahoma St- not to mention WVU of course. So probably need to in those other 5 games only lose to Oklahoma. Another loss puts them at 7-5 and while it's possible they're ranked- it's no lock at all.
