Halftime scores/final score: (*neutral site)
*Oregon 28-3/49-3
@South Carolina 24-0/48-7
*Florida 28-3/42-20
Tennessee 24-6/27-13
*LSU 35-10/50-30
*Ohio St. 24-28/42-41
*TCU 38-7/65-7
The lesser opponents they often started off slower:
Samford 30-0/33-0
Kent St. 26-13/39-22
@Missouri 6-16/26-22
Auburn 14-0/42-10
Vanderbilt 28-0/55-0
@Miss. St. 17-12/45-19
@Kentucky 9-0/16-6
Georgia Tech 10-7/37-14
I take issue with calling Atlanta a neutral site for Georgia.
Well its not home field. Oregon was about 95% UGA. LSU was about 70% UGA (typically the SEC CCG is close to 50/50 but LSU didn't show up). Ohio St. was about 55% UGA and the Ohio St. fans were loud.
Athens to Atlanta - one hour
Columbus to Atlanta - 8 hours
Home field.
What matters is the fans in the stands. Big 10 schools often had a little home field advantage in the Rose Bowl over the Pac schools because they had more fans. UGA-Ohio St. was pretty close to neutral. More so than Jacksonville vs. Florida where UGA fans outnumbered Florida fans. More so than the Rose Bowl vs. OU a few years ago where OU was about 800 miles closer, but the stands were at least 60% UGA.
I agree with this. My recollection of the Peach Bowl, just from watching on TV, was that Ohio State seemed to have plenty of support. There seemed to be a lot of Buckeyes fans in the stands, and they seemed to be almost as vocal in cheering as the Georgia fans.
I think Georgia probably had a bit more, but IMO this was in no way a "home" game for Georgia like a game in Athens would have been, with 98% or so of the fans supporting Georgia.

That is one point, but being able to stay at home, and do a short bus ride to a stadium you have played in before (this season) is a huge advantage.
It is something, but IMO not nearly the advantage/disadvantage it is during the regular season, when a team has to fly to an opponent's place on usually less than a week's turnaround.
For the playoffs, Ohio State had plenty of time to gather themselves to make the flight to Atlanta, get settled in, etc.

I"m really, really skeptical of that. I was following the lowest-ticket-prices of the various major bowls on Ticketmaster, trying to guage the cash value of the Rose Bowl brand using fairly-easily available numbers.
The Peach Bowl was crazy expensive for the whole time I was tracking (I think I started on Black Friday?) because Georgia fans knew with 99% certainty that they were going to Atlanta for the SEC CCG and for the semfinal. I don't really believe you when you say that the stadium was half Buckeye. The secondary market tickets logically would be strongly Georgia--easy travel, they had another couple of weeks to buy and plan.
I was there. It was probably 55-45 UGA. I was also at the SEC CCG. It was about 70/30 UGA. While that 30% of LSU fans WAS loud, they were outnumbered.
