Their steal total is impressive, but they avg 10.5 vs the 6 worst teams on their schedule and 8.5 vs the rest (still good but ODU avg 7.8 so not a great advantage).

What does concern me is their strength on the offensive boards. The have 10+ ORB in 11/13 games and 15+ in seven. That strength plays directly into a notable weakness on our team. Plus they avg 9 made 3s/game...we've made 9+ 3s in three games this year.

Look who they have played. That is why their stats are good. I still believe ODU is the 4th best team in the sunbelt. The league is so weak, we will start winning now. South Alabama was a wake up call. The talent we have will now start moving the ball around and it will be very easy to start a winning streak. I only say this because, as you will see 9/10 teams are very beatable.

I hope you’re right. I was hoping William and Mary was the wake up call.

They are an odd team.

They rebound offensively really well. They shoot from 3 really well. They get to the line a ton. They should be a good offensive team, but they aren't because they turn the ball over a ton and cant shoot inside the arc. Having said that, with our propensity to foul, that may be a huge problem for us. They check 2 of the boxes that we really struggle with (guarding 3s and fouling)

On defense, they create steals and thats about it.

There are 2 avenues of victory for Troy and either seems reasonably possible. They light us up from 3 or they shoot 40 free throws. If we can somehow avoid those 2 things, we win.

4 1/2 point dogs tonight.

I’m not sure how ODU can beat anyone at this point. I guess I’ll still watch, unfortunately there’s nothing else to do on a cold Thursday night.
