Tech looked like they didn’t want to even be in the gym in the 1st half. Missed too many shots in the paint. Couldn’t get a rebound on a free throw in the end. Ball game!

That pretty much says it all plus we just aren't a very good team this season

I actually think Tech is a damn good team when the coach get the guys playing hard, keeping them motivated seems to be the issue.

I've got to go back to being a season ticket holder in the Big XII again. At least the Big XII officials call fair and respectable games. CUSA basketball is sheeeit. It's a joke. The officiating in CUSA sucks at the highest level. The product is not fun to watch when the officiating is this lopsided. And then we get stupid responses like yours, from people who really don't care about the product.
Dude, you are such a whiner. In your opinion, has La Tech ever lost a game that wasn't the refs' fault? Gets old.
It gets old for me too. Same old sheeeet. Worst conference in America. By far. And then some little dweeb like you doesn't get it.
Never said I thought the officiating was good in this conference. What I said is you are a whiner, who blames the officials for every loss, no matter the sport. That gets old. Sometimes your team just gets beat. I'm waiting for the first time for you to admit that. Love, Little Dweeb.
Feel free to leave the board or simply not read my posts if you can't handle it, Snowflake.

I was surprised that WKU didn't adjust better to the 1-3-1 and fell apart in the 2nd half after playing really well in the 1st. If we could have rebounded the missed FT at the end then we would have probably won game which is somewhat surprising. If we continue to play White inside so many minutes things won't get much better.
Not to make an excuse we tired a bit. We log a lot of minutes. Goes with only having mainly 7 guys. Hopefully that changes soon

And having Jake Ohmer sprain is ankle last night and miss the last 15 mins on the game didnt help, im sure the game plan we had included his fresh legs for players breaks

Final
Marshall played without starter CJ Burks and Darius George. It was one of the quiet games, but Marshall played well overall. It was very slow paced which is what I guess USM wanted, but Marshall reacted well to it all night slowly spreading out the lead to around 20 for the later part of the game. C-USA Player of the year nominee John Elmore had an off half not scoring at all in the first half of play! By the end of the night he was 2 rebounds away from a triple-double. MU basketball if fun to watch. Next up is LA Tech.
Did you say this was slow paced? Did you watch the game. That was maybe one of the shortest and most fast paced games you could ever have.
Yep, I watched it on C-USA TV. Marshall played slower than usual. Maybe it was the lack of CJ Burks or the defense by USM, but MU played a different game than they were used to. The first half especially was a grind it out type of game instead of the usual flow that MU plays by. It's not as bad because we still pulled away, but it wasn't that flashy of a game.
Seemed different to me. That was the fastest first half i can recall actual time wise. And i thought we looked good and played well with the new guys getting major minutes. West was amazing in the first half especially. We could honestly be scary good when and if this team "gets hot". Elmore has not been elmore so far, having a good season but compares to what we expect from him, a down year so far.
I don't disagree with any of that. Actual time was probably fast as there were hardly any fouls first half. I think people were referring to perceived time as it wasn't flashy or exciting movement for 3/4 of the game, so that it felt like a fast-paced game.
I hope we don't have to go through an 8 page thread every time La Tech loses a game this season..
The stupid HogDawg has been nothing but a Whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny lil troll from the 1st time I ever laid eyes on him here. If his nick means he root for Arkansas "Hog" and LA Tech "Dawg" then I see why. Arkansas has always been the redheaded step child of the SEC ever since it joined in 1992 and well LA Tech for the most part had been a nomad wondering around aimlessly looking for a good home in IA.
I think its funny that HZ talks about other people being whiny when he doesn't post on Marshall message boards but stalks the boards and messages every new member lol.

Jhivvan Jackson has been C-USA Freshman of the Week twice so far this season. He's from Bayamón, Puerto Rico. I think he has the green light from Coach Henson because his shooting range is crazy long. What you say about him defensively is spot on because he does have pretty good hands, and can be a danger at close range, but he also sometimes gambles and gets beaten off the dribble. Defensively, his footwork and positioning need improvement, but I think that Coach Henson and staff will work with him on that.
Another guy to keep an eye on is Keaton Wallace though. He's another freshman guard we have, and he's been C-USA Freshman of the Week 3 times so far this year. Together, our freshman guard tandem have been Freshman of the Week 5 times in the first 7 weeks of the season.
We also got a terrific freshman forward named Adrian Rodriguez who had 10 points and 8 rebounds for us in only 14 minutes of play in the first game of the season before getting hurt for the season. Coach Henson was really high on this kid, and he's also a terrific interior passer, and hits his free throws. If he were playing, we might even have had a chance for a clean sweep of Freshman of the Week honors for the first 7 weeks.
All said, we have a lot of guys who can shoot the trey this year. The guy you asked about, Jhivvan Jackson, is shooting 44% from 3-point range, and like you said, he does take some crazy long ones. Junior guard Deon Lyle is also shooting 44%, junior forward Nick Allen is actually shooting 55% (17-31), sophomore guard George Willborn III is shooting 40%, and junior forward Toby Van Ry, who doesn't get a lot of PT, has hit 3 of 7 for 43%.
If we had Rodriguez healthy and playing, I think we'd be 11-3 right now because I believe we would've beaten Bradley (2-point loss), Tulsa (4-point loss), and Utah Valley (8-point loss). Nebraska only beat us 104-94, and OU beat us 97-85, so I think we'd still have lost those games, but they likely would've gone down to the wire. Our worst game was against Coastal Carolina, an 83-69 loss. Just didn't play well that day.
Looking forward to our game tonight. I think one of our teams is going to surprise quite a few in C-USA this season.

By breaking .500?
I think both North Texas and UTSA will finish over .500 this season. I think one of them could end up challenging for the regular season title. You should watch them play tonight. Both are improving quickly.

When you guys talk about the Marshall message board, are you talking about the one here on CSN, or one on their own fan page? Asking because when I come here, it's just to keep abreast of the conference talk. For all the UTSA talk, I go to RowdyTalk. I never even visit the UTSA CSN thread, and don't know whether anyone else from UTSA uses it either.
