RE: What grinds your gears?
Reckless motorized cart drivers. Recently someone who had no business on one of these came around the aisle and almost took my knees out.

Nailed that one.
Just trying to shop and some d-bag in a put-put thinks everyone should yield to them and move out of their way.
Makes me want to put speed bumps in the aisles.....

RE: What grinds your gears?
So I'm a renter. Have been most of my career due to the nature of my job. Great thing about being a renter is you get emergency maintenance. However last night we called at 930 after I tried to fix the plumbing for an hour and let them know we got an issue. Two hours later they let me know someone would be here this afternoon.
Nope. A phone call later, and about an hour later I cut a plumber a check and issue resolved. My gears are ground and I'm going to the landlord later to grind on theirs.

toss in the turn lane passing to gain a single spot in line.....when you're hauling a few tons, that'll grind your gears as they hit 8k rpms to slam on the brakes into a red light....
people are fk'n idiots...
I simply gave up road rage for lent as a devout atheist....this thread has become my 'venti'....
fwiw, 5 mph over is the standard to move traffic efficiently in my book.....always has been......then you come across the dipshite pos'

RE: What grinds your gears?
Another gripe: Why do idiots insist on stopping almost at the back of your vehicle at red lights? Do they want to take advantage of the one one thousands of a second on their trip? The way I learned it high school drivers ed. was that you had to see the car in front of yours rear tires. That was a good distance. But, NOOOOOO, they have to stop their vehicles inside of your trunk or tailgate.
I think even Jesus Christ would send a lightning bolt down on these drivers. Or send them to hell for being stupid.

lmao......once they diagnose me as terminal, I'm going to buy a clunker one day and just ride around slamming into reverse, drive off, rinse repeat, until they catch me.....
I wonder how those driverless vehicles will work in that scenario.......
lmfao....

RE: What grinds your gears?
When a dude comes out of the stall and heads straight for the restroom door with a handle. I will not touch a restroom door handle with my hands. I'll use a paper towel as a barrier to open it. I'm not a germophobe but it just cranks my shaft when someone doesn't have the decency to take a minute to wash their hands. My wife tells me some women don't wash too. All public restroom doors (especially in restaurants) should be either of the following:
Two way push open, non handle...
Arm or foot bracket to open...

I'm not a germaphobe either but I think I wash my hands at least 15 times per day. Perhaps that's why I haven't had a cold/flu in 25 years. My hands may be dry but it beats getting sick.
I also use paper towels to open the doors with door knobs. I have a little bit of Monk craziness in me too.

House we rented years ago had an electric stove. Couple burners were hit or miss working then stopped. I lifted the top and saw worn out wires. Call the alcoholic ***** who owned the house and she said she'd send out her alcoholic bastard live in boyfriend (they had told their friends they wouldn't get married because neither wanted the other to get their stuff).
Alcoholic bastard boyfriend comes out and my wife warns him that I said there are worn out wires that are broken. He sneers that he will go out and check for himself if that's all right with her. Lifts the top jabs a screwdriver in and it arcs. Old fart now has spots in front of his eyes and staggers around nearly falling down the steps to the entry way.
New stove arrived next day.

RE: What grinds your gears?
The closest I get to reenacting Falling Down is sitting behind someone at a stop light who NEEDS those moments to read Facebook on their phone. Light changes. I wait. I wait a bit more and give the horn a very short burst to remind them they ought to look up. Me honking then pisses them off so they sit there and wait until the light has been yellow a bit then floor it and take off
-OR-
They start up as soon as they realize what they've done then slam on the brakes when I follow.

When my daughter is home less than 24 hrs, is out with her friends in MY car, and for the first time, EVER, the Transmission light pops on.
Literally, yes there's that word again, grinding my gears.
True story...
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

RE: What grinds your gears?
We have a four lane road that merges down to two lanes as it comes into the old part of town. The "Lane Ends. Merge Left" signs start a mile back. I'm more than happy to let someone merge if they do so back there, but I've put many (including this morning) up on the sidewalk when they blow by everybody in the left lane and get to the point of no return.
I pray for the day someone eventually sideswipes me. So far after all these years the only impact has been one dude who despite the long line of cars with brake lights lit because they were stopped ran smack dab into the back of the Jeep I had because he hauled ass down the right hand lane and realized too late it ended. Didn't even scratch my rock crawler bumper, peeled back his hood like it was a can opener and the receiver hitch destroyed the nose and radiator. Couple thousand dollars worth of damage to his car and a ticket from the popo served him right, especially since the Trooper that had to come work the wreck due to my reserve officer status was pissed he was working an in-town wreck. No breaks were cut that day.

Bravo!
I feel the same way about people who use the center turn lane to "pull out from the opposite side of the street, accelerate, and cut people off" just because they don't want to wait 5 extra seconds for traffic to clear.
Hey a-hole, it isn't a merge lane, it's a turn lane.
