Thank you. We at Memphis are proud of our football team's accomplishments no matter when they happened. Undefeated in 1938 and 1963. And you guys have a really good football team.

Hate to break it you guys. The NCAA has also awarded a NC to the 2008 University of Utah team. They also went undefeated that year.

I actually think their 2004 tam was better than the 2008 squad.

The 2008 Utah team, like UCF, was the only undefeated team and went 4-0 against the real AP Top 25 (not that "ranking at the time they played" garbage but the final Top 25), and beat the SEC runner-up in a bowl. They are absolutely worthy of a claim.

One thing I don't get is why UCF is the only non-CFP champion to be listed in the NCAA books.
-In 2016, Colley Matrix picked Alabama as the champion even though Clemson had an identical record and had just won the head to head.
-In 2012, CM also picked Notre Dame over Bama, after the former lost 42-14 in the BCS championship game (I know this was BCS, but there's a similar footnote for the BCS years as the CFP).

My initial thought was because we actually claimed it, but to my knowledge Utah never did in 2008.

Who cares? Whether it's fair or not we here in the AAC just need to claim it proclaim it. The whole dang system is corrupt and openly biased to everything that the American has done,,, so if we get a little appreciation and notice our of the deal take it and run.
